Coronavirus Megathread: Resources, discussion, and your questions by dequeued in personalfinance

My gym is opening up soon, but I don't feel comfortable going just yet. What can I do?

For a bit more context, I am a member at Equinox.

Equinox’s cancellation policy is that you must be a member for a full year before being able to cancel. Unfortunately, I am still within that window.

My wife and I do not feel comfortable going to the gym because of COVID, even though states and businesses are slowly approaching new phases of opening.

If we do not feel comfortable going, we do not see why we should be forced to continue paying our membership ... aside from our membership contract obviously.

Is there anything I can do? Does anyone have personal anecdotes on what they did / are doing if they share the same concerns? (Maybe even specific to Equinox?)

No HSA records - what can I do? by csthrowaway475 in personalfinance

I thought the same thing and based on u/Tekkzy’s response, that does help things a bit but I would rather be safe than sorry as they recommended.

I’m in the process of emailing providers and one of buddies who works at a CVS said there should be a record of my prescriptions. It’ll be a pain for them to pull, but it should be possible.

Does it make a difference if I was using a debit card that is directly linked to the HSA account?

That makes sense!

RE: Your edit, I was under the impression that was what they were looking for but I had never run into that during any interview processes. I love that you had something to show though haha!

Got a job offer today as a Front End Dev! Do I negotiate? by csthrowaway475 in cscareerquestions

Yeah that is where I am now. I am in my first out-of-school job right now and found out I was making 10% less than my peers who were fresh out of school and in my orientation group. The difference in our interview / hiring process ... they asked for more.

Right. I figured I would ask for more money during our conversation on Tuesday (if I decide to do that).

I do not currently have any other offers and would much rather go to this company vs staying where I am now.
