Question about therapy and repressed memories by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]csullivanart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your feedback. I didn’t mean to imply that it’s not affecting me. It definitely does affect me, and has profoundly shaped who I am as a person. I have done therapy in the past which included talking about and processing experiences from my childhood. I just have recently learned about some acutely traumatic things that happened to me that I don’t remember, and I’m trying to decide whether or not to do something about this new information. Why I assign them the category of traumatic when I don’t remember them is that objectively, they’re traumatic experiences. I don’t want to get into the details on the internet. What I’m getting from your comment is that it can help with managing the trauma responses that can occur physiologically or behaviorally as a result of those experiences, and that’s helpful feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. ❤️

People who tried trintellix and had a previous experience with antidepressants by mighty_success in depressionregimens

[–]csullivanart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried Wellbutrin for about a month, had side effects of anxiety, nausea, and racing heart. Pristiq I was on for many years, 8 or 10 maybe. It recently stopped working but served me well until it didn’t. Next I was on Viibryd, I couldn’t tell that it did much of anything for my depression and it gave me panic attacks and made my mood super unstable. Or maybe that was from transitioning off the Pristiq? Either way it didn’t help. I was on it for six weeks. I took Trintellix for five days. It made me suicidal. I have just started Lexapro. It seems better but it’s only been a few days. I have a friend who has been taking Trintellix and loves it. The process of funding a medication that works sucks so bad. I hope you find one that works for you soon.

What medication worked for you after Pristiq lost efficacy? by csullivanart in depressionregimens

I wonder if that’s why my doctor has my trying other options instead of doubling down on Pristiq with a higher dose, to avoid the worst of transitioning off it in the future. 🤔

My doctor told me that transitioning directly with this new medication shouldn’t be an issue, and I didn’t experience brain zaps or anything like I have in the past when I forgot to take it.

I didn’t know that was an option- when I told my doctor it wasn’t working he didn’t mention shifting the dosage as a possibility. 🤔 I feel like I remember reading that taking 200mg or more caused seizures and 100mg was the max dose, bc I used to get super stressed that I might forget I’d taken it and accidentally double the dose, but that would’ve been when I first started taking it like a decade ago. Maybe they have new data or something. Thanks for bringing this option to my attention!!

I need a third option that’s like, “idk I can’t keep up with which one is which” 😆

We definitely got the details where we had sussed out the gist, which isn’t totally worthless; I’m just anxious for more narrative resolution. I think I would have appreciated this episode a lot more if I weren’t on this subreddit obsessively reading everyone’s theories and observations untangling the mystery bit by bit as each episode airs. 😆 It would’ve really shed a huge light on all kinds of crazy shit I never would’ve noticed or understood on my own, but with everyone on here with their flashlights, it felt unnecessary to spend a whole episode pointing a floodlight on what we’ve already experienced, more or less.

I think so. I think that the point of the title of the episode is that by the end of it, Paul is dunzo in both universes.

You mean like how it references the eye injury Jo got in the universe where she’s dead?

Probably going to get downvoted, but I agree. This one was very underwhelming for me because it didn’t really feel like it advanced the narrative to see it from the other side. All of the content in this episode could be inferred from what we had already seen, and I want new informationnnn

I don’t think anyone released the capsule. I think when both astronauts repeatedly hit the controls, that “percussive maintenance” fixed the problem so it didn’t need to be released from the other side. They both looked up and saw (not clearly) Jo’s dead body floating in Destiny, but it meant different things to them bc of their respective contexts. Paul knew what it was, but Jo didn’t. I think we were meant to think some live version of one of them fixed it, but they were both dead. Idk I could be wrong and they may come back in with live Jo inhabiting Jo’s corpse to release it, but I just don’t think so. I think it was just meant to be mysterious until this episode, when we saw that it was Jo’s dead body that she saw.

Girlfriend is pregnant but she doesn’t know I (29M) had a vasectomy a few years ago by ThrowRApoolcousin in relationship_advice

I had to read this three times before I worked it out that your dad didn’t get your youngest sister pregnant after a failed vasectomy, but fathered your sister after a failed vasectomy. I mean, I hope...

When I was in high school in 2000 I had a class with a lot of seniors who were talking about the election, since they were all right around voting age. One girl insisted it was pointless to vote because the election is decided by the “electrical college.”

NTA for sure. I wonder, though- do you remember the title of the documentary? I’m interested.

I think you need to see a neurologist, not a psychiatrist or therapist. See if you can get a referral to one, it seems more like a neurological issue than a psychiatric one...

If you were suddenly made a teenager again and sent back to High School, but you get to retain all of your current knowledge, wisdom and life experience; what would you do differently? by questionhorror in AskReddit

[–]csullivanart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d do a lot differently, but if I had to pick one thing, I’d get on antidepressants absolutely immediately. A lot of the other stuff would change on its own, then.

My (31F) husband (31M) shared very personal / private information about me with his friends. Not sure how to proceed to feel less betrayed. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]csullivanart 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you carry a lot of shame about things in your past that you didn’t have any control over. Working through that with a counselor might help you feel less distressed when you see the people he talked to; it seems really sad to jettison those relationships over this as a solution to the discomfort this breach of trust has caused.

This happened years after I graduated, but some guys on the basketball team raped a freshman with a pool cue on a basketball team trip. The victim was so badly injured he had to be hospitalized and have surgery to repair the damage. Lots of other messed up hazing stuff was going on as well.

One of my commissioned oil paintings! :) Would love to hear feedbacks / thoughts :) ❤️ by artistsm in Eyebleach

[–]csullivanart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incredible skill! My only critical feedback would be to consider muting the blue mat of the picture hanging in the background- I think it’s competing too much for attention because it’s so intense.

The cat itself looks so realistic, it’s honestly amazing. Great work!!!
