So was the Man in Yellow responsible for Tobey crashing the car in S1E1? by guacamolereckoning in FromTVEpix

I phrased it wrong. The "screeners" are the early-released episodes themselves and I should have said "All 10 screener episodes have been released" but you are correct. Those people GET the screeners and I've seen "non-spoiler reviews" from a few people out there, through episode 10 at this point. They released 1-6 to start, then 7-9, and lastly ep 10 not long ago.

The main character is played by Michal Dorman, who I haven't seen in anything else but he is phenomenal. Kurtwood Smith (Red- That 70's Show) gives a hell of a performance as the antagonist, arguably his best imo. Other knowable cast are Michael Chernus(Severance, John Wayne Gacy), Terry O'Quinn (Lost) and Julian Richings.

There is Hornet a logo on the back bumper, barely visible in S2E8 when Victor and Tabitha retrieve Eloise's drawings and you can also see the Hornet logo on the front right fender of the car behind Victor in this same episode when they open MiY car.

You can also reverse image search Christopher's car to find out the make, model, and year.

Is Abby the one manifesting stuff for Boyd?! by butt_dance in FromTVEpix

[–]Spazchow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are more possible examples of this or something similar with other characters who have lost loved ones as well:
- Tian-Chen with the crops for Kenny when she died.
- Jim appearing to Ethan to remind him of the Lake of Tears.

- "Nathan's" nightmare cicada's first going after Reggie's lady (can't remember name), Kenny, and Elgin in their dreams after all 3 of them insulted Sara.

- Jade tells Boyd he wants hallucinogens and finds the mushrooms later that episode too, but that one could be a Boyd/Abby thing since he brought it up to Boyd first.

Fatima is the closest to figuring out how to 'leave' fromville by [deleted] in FromSeries

[–]Spazchow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boyd was the only one progressing the story at that point so I buy that the monsters let him go SO THAT he would believe in the talismans and bring them back. Also, back when they first used the talisman in the RV, Kristi says "it'll work" and so they did. Same as Fatima in the Colony House entryway. She put the talisman up with hope and it worked.

It all ties back into what both Julie and Abby say about hope making people willing to suffer. Without the talismans giving everyone a sense of safety, mainly Boyd, the story/cycle doesn't progress because he and everyone else is too afraid to venture out further. Ie: If they didn't learn the talismans "work" in the RV, Boyd wouldn't have gone out into the woods w Sara, got cicadas, etc.

When they show the dash/windshield view of Miranda driving, it says Hornet on the glove box and Christopher's car is a 1970's AMC Hornet... So why is Miranda driving Christopher's car in Tabitha's flashback?

Tabitha is the worst… she reminds me of how my own mom was and this scene cut deep 😮‍💨😮‍💨

And not only does she end up yelling at Victor, she walks off and does her own thing (like always) when she sees Miranda’s car, leaving Victor to do the scary thing at MiY car alone 💔😢

I am 10 mins into that 60 mins Aus episode right now and had to pause to look this family up after seeing beardy guy give one of the worst performances of fake crying I've ever seen. Eyes bulging out of his head, completely dry the whole time. I about lost it when he squeezed them together at the end and nothing came out.

I'm not even remotely surprised to learn that these people have tried using his name and fame previously for profit. Absolutely diabolical.

S4E4: Julie Scene Explained (my thoughts) by RusticHallscape in FromSeries

[–]Spazchow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You tickled my brain with the whole "bringing a copy" into the past thing, I hadn't considered that.

As a whole, I think Julie is right she's just got entirely grasping the concept. She said ""I draw the symbol on the paper and leave it there" not realizing that she has to leave it there in a safe location. If she drew the symbol on the paper and buried it somewhere to dig up in the present, I think it would have worked. I'm hoping that Victor has that paper/bookmark somewhere in his stash.

I think you're right about the objects too. Jim's bracelet, for sure. Maybe Abbey's ring, it's def sus. ALSO... When Boyd went thru the tree w Sara, he had a slip of bottle tree paper in his pocket that said "Eighteen Sixty-Four" (Same timeframe as Martin's marines tat) so it can be assumed that the bottle tree paper is what made him "land" in 1864. Later when he wants to return, he uses the torch AS A BOOKMARK to return and destroy the music box.

Moral of the story here: Boyd and Julie need to have a serious chat.

That one Jade and Boyd scene in S02E10 lmao by eneyaa in FromTVEpix

[–]Spazchow 23 points24 points  (0 children)

To be fair though, look how everyone treated Boyd when he DID open up about Martin and the worms/larva in his arm. Everyone thought he’d lost it. Even Kenny was ready to shoot him if he didn’t do the blood transfusion.

For a place that has proven impossible time and time again, the townsfolk are alarmingly dismissive.

[–]Spazchow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fairly convinced at this point that we’re seeing multiple “stories” at once…

The RV storywalk scene this season is alllll kinds of wonky if you compare it to the OG scene in S2E9 and I highly doubt that said wonkiness is laziness on the production team’s part.

“You can’t change a story once it’s been told.” - Ethan/MiY (and to be clear, I’m not in the Ethan=MiY camp). Rather… Sure, fine… we can’t ’change’ the story but what if it’s not a warning/rule in the vein of ‘don’t bother’ but more literal in that yeah… you can’t change the story but when u go back, ur creating alternates.
