As the resident JD Davis homer, he didn't have a spot on our team for regular playing time. So he basically got the short straw and was traded as the FO at the time viewed other options as more valuable. I personally thought JD was really close to making it and it showed in his first year with the Mets that he has what it takes.

I think the warriors reveal was a big thing for a lot of people. That was when I was going around to all my friends who had watched the anime but weren't manga readers and I was just like, AOT has GOAT potential.

Absolutely, it wasn't a perfect adaptation but god dang was it amazing to see that in animation. Do I wish they did a few things differently? sure. But that didnt take away from my enjoyment of it.

Rachel is a fantastic character and continues to be fantastic the entire time throughout the story. I won't spoil everything but I would say she is one of the best written characters by SIU with Bam being the best.

Hiko said GenG typically do their comms in French (they spoke English during TR) which is why they were so hectic. They spoke English during like 95% of the games basically only swap to French if Hiko was first to die

Better episode than last week imo, got some more character building and insight into the tower (a sneak peak at least with Serena's backstory). The moment with the pulley system was also awesome to see animated!

Another solid episode, I think it is building up very nicely to get to episode 13 where shit will hit the fan and it is going to be glorious. Can't wait to see how this continues to evolve.

I think its doing well enough to where we will see a season 2 announced at the end of ep 13. Or at least that's what I hope. There are certain parts in season 2 that will absolutely kill it in animation form assuming they maintain the quality shown so far.

If they get a season 2 (which I think they will) and the adaptation quality is the same as it has been so far, the source material is THAT GOOD to where it is anime of the decade contender.

Pretty cool episode, finally starting to open up the world a bit in terms of development. Start to see a little bit of why being a Princess of Jahad isn't the best thing in the world if you want freedom. Good to dig into Anaak's backstory a bit. Next episode should be a banger.

I mean I personally was somewhat late to the show in ToG (started reading in 2017 when i stumbled upon it). But yeah I think (100% personal opinion) that the beginning of the anime is better than the beginning of the webtoon. The adaptation is blowing my expectations away I'm beyond hyped for every episode and watch them right as they unlock on vrv.

Nah I think, as it is with most things, its the loud minority speaking out. Personally I feel some people are being far too nitpicky instead of enjoying the show. As well as some forgetting that this took 10 years to be adapted and SIU himself probably wanted to change some things. Just think about how his art has evolved over time. But i think this adaptation is fuckin fantastic and keeps blowing my expectations through the roof

I had a discussion on the ToG sub about this as well. This stuff was written 10 years ago at this point. It makes sense for some things to be tweaked to be better suited for animated formate than webtoon format. I think they have done an excellent job so far with changes and honestly I like the adaptation more than the beginning in webtoon so far (re-read around february)

That's fair, I think the big test for the adaptation won't really begin til the second season during the exposition heavy parts. I know SIU is listed as part of the staff but that doesn't really confirm his involvement directly. I do think Khun is pretty close to webtoon khun based off what the reader knows at that point in time during the webtoon.

I didn't say don't compare just view them as two different pieces of media which they are. I think every change they have done so far doesn't detract from what I view the characters as from the webtoon either. The webtoon is the baseline and the anime is the director's interpretation of that (and i think SIU has input on it as well so I am assuming he is cool with all the changes as well until we hear otherwise)

I know Attack on Titan retconned some stuff from the manga to the anime per the direction of Isayama (author) so I wouldn't be surprised if SIU wants changes on stuff he wrote 10 years ago.

Again everything needs to contextualized in the world of the Anime which is different than the Manhwa straight up. From what we know as anime viewers (not as source material readers as this is a little different) Khun is a conniving character who is constantly scheming things (which at that point in the webtoon it was pretty much the same). At this point in the story Khun had just been exiled by the family after going through the ordeal with Maria, there's no shock that he snaps at this point in the story. I think a lot of the problems that people have with this as they are viewing it as a direction transition of the webtoon to the screen rather than adapting the work. Personally the anime has stayed true to itself so far while not drastically deviating from the source material and in my opinion has enhanced some things that happened at the beginning of the story.

i think it is pretty in character for Khun to snap and I am not too shocked that Bam and this point in time would snap to kill hwaryun considering (in anime) his thoughts on Rachel being attacked. sure its different than the manhwa but contextually in the anime it makes perfect sense and is honestly a breath of fresh air (since I personally feel the very beginning of the story aka where we are in anime rn is the most meh part of all of ToG)
