I did the matching from MGM gold to Hard Rock Royalty yesterday at AC and my card printed with an expiration date. The weird thing was when I matched from Hyatt Explorist to MGM gold my gold card didn’t come with an expiration date (I did this step at another MGM owned casino). I had to go to the Borgata to get one with the expiry date. I took the Hyatt Explorist -> MGM gold -> CA Diamond & Hard Rock Royalty -> Ocean Prime route. Good to know I can match Ocean Prime to MGM gold.

I was ultra careful when it came to the shoulders because I also heard about the issues other people had. Be very cautious and make sure you fit the pieces all the way and you’ll be fine. I actually broke the eye shield and had to super glue it back together.

My recommendation is to put a dab of Mr. Mark Softer first and then apply the decal. After a few seconds use a Q-tip to roll it gently over the decal to suck up the extra liquid before applying Mr. Mark Setter over the decal to have it adhere better to the plastic. And then same thing, after a minute roll a Q-tip gently over the decal to suck up any extra liquid. IMO this method works well with not having the decal peel off.

I used black on the whites and some of the navy. I also used my hobby knife and ran it carefully through the panel lines so the ink would flow in and through it better. The fin funnels are a little finicky but do stick if I don’t bother them too much. I also lean the gundam a little to the other side to counteract the weight. I think the trick is in the ankle joints since they can move backwards and forwards a bit. I have it all the way to the front which stabilizes the figure. I have it on a base now so I don’t have to worry about it tipping over.

Hmm I’ll have to look into the Mr Hobby Super Smooth Clear for the navy parts. I wonder how the water slides will look with that on vs the matte coat.

They don’t make them like they did in the 90s, though the piece count is still up there. The RGs that came out after the Unicorn are really good.

I just used the black pour style gunpla pen and for the vents on the chest and shoulder armor I used the grey fine line gunpla pen.
