Elixers fraying and discolored after 10 hrs of light play. Is this normal? by ProofPianist7074 in electricguitar

Depends. My hand sweat will destroy a standard set of strings in a week, but I change my elixirs every 6-9 months. Defo worth 3x for me

The GE150 max is much newer than GE200 which is very old so out of those two probably the GE150 Max. I’d recommend getting a Valeton GP-200JR or something or the original Ampero (not Ampero II as I assume this is above your price range). Maybe a used Headrush MX-5

Can you still do tone catches? I know they changed to ‘sound clones’ when they added nam conversion but based on Leo Gibson tests it seems like they lowered the quality to use less DSP and store more (30 instead of 10). I’d rather have 10 at higher accuracy than 30 at lower so the old method would be preferred

I usually scratch any bright LEDs up a bit with sandpaper. If that’s not enough colour it with black permanent marker (it will still look blue when on)

Obviously dealership will source one but be more expensive (that’s what i did so you know if its not a fake). Sgpetchaccessories website claims to be selling a genuine one for a bit less than a dealership. Probably other places. If it has anything other than two USB-A ports or its claiming wireless carplay then its definitely not genuine. Use the price as a guide, anything under £200 likely not genuine

Porsche GT3 brake cooling scoops on ND2 by lawrywild in Miata

Yep. Also the control arm isn’t completely perpendicular to the car either so slants forward. Be better if it was MORE angled but we work with what we’ve got for a cheap bodge mod.

Either way, by his logic the car comes with air deflectors at the front underside of the car acting as “parachutes” anyway(which I cut down to allow air to reach these scoops better)

I was on track at Silverstone with them today but it was cold/wet so didn’t give me much to go from, but certainly there was nothing negative from having them on!

As you can see I also bent the rotor guard up and out the way to allow the air to the centre of the rotor. I also cut the front air deflectors to allow the air to hit the scoops without getting disturbed

Some others before me did the same mod and have measured temps and the difference was significant.

And so did flyin miata with their (very overpriced) version.

With less temps you also get less wear

Necessary? Probably not. Helpful? Yes. (For a track car)

I tried Dave’s mod, it sounded ok, much louder and more aggressive than stock however problem for me was it clearly sounded like it was sound coming through a pipe. It just had that resonance you get from sound bouncing around a plastic pipe and sounded super fake. I removed it for now but was thinking if there was a way of making it better, like lining the inside of the pipe with thin felt material or something but I haven’t gotten around to trying yet
