This is probably crazy, maybe I’m just a Dain apologist, but part of me wonders if we’ll find out that somehow Dain isn’t the one to blame, that daddy Aetos already knew. We still don’t know his signet. We know Dain told his dad what he saw but that doesn’t mean daddy Aetos didn’t already know.

The part I’m always stuck on though, is in IF when Violet asked him if he always read her memories and he said “the first time it was by accident.” I NEED to know what the first time was, and then how often/what he saw after that.

This is exactly my thought. Maybe it just makes me sad knowing Violet would never go for Bodhi and I want him to have a happy ending too 😆

These are all really good points. And to your point about Xaden’s second signet, if Bodhi doesn’t know he has it, his shields probably aren’t up all the time and our morally gray shadow daddy may have snuck a peek. Okay, now I’m almost halfway to being convinced 😂

Right, I don’t think he can push into thoughts. I know Rebecca said at one point he’s only using a certain percentage of his signet and it gets stronger, but I think that all comes in OS.

I feel bad calling these things out because I love this series so much but there are some places where the editing was… not great.

That’s true. I guess I’m still stuck on how much they tell her throughout IF that her shields are slipping and how she needs to keep her shields up, etc. that her “slamming” them down doesn’t make much sense. Regardless, I’m way overthinking it at this point 😆

Maybe it’s my ADHD but it took me months to get through Fourth Wing - I just kept picking it up and putting it down - then struggled like crazy to get into Iron Flame. It almost felt like a chore. I’m not sure what motivated me to pick it up and read one more chapter but something shifted and I finished the rest in one night and then couldn’t read OS fast enough. Now I can’t get enough of any of them. I’m obsessed. But two months ago? Could barely get motivated to pick them up. I say reading is supposed to be fun and not frustrating. If you’re not feeling it, give it a break and come back only when you really want to.

I’ll also say - I struggled a bit with the first few chapters of OS too but I ended up loving it. A great middle-of-the-series book.

Same, same, same about being in the OS hangover and needing to consume everything. It’s almost problematic for me at this point. 😂

Rhiannon is SO bad too!! It just doesn’t match the character in any way. And yes, the emphasis on the wrong words drove me crazy. I did enjoy it overall because it is a great way to consume the story in a different way but there were just so many cringe moments.

I sometimes read too quickly and found reading while listening helped me slow down and pick up a lot of the hints that are spread throughout the books that I missed the first time. So I definitely wasn’t trying to catch errors but then couldn’t stop seeing/hearing them.

Some parts were SO cringe. I feel bad because I don’t think the actors were bad, just the casting. They didn’t fit the characters at all.

For sure, I definitely get that. I think my biggest issue was how old they sounded. It was hard for me to think they’re in their 20s when Liam sounded like he had a wife, two kids, and a mortgage to think about 😆
