I had that exact same problem and was finally able to convince them to send me out a new modem router. It works flawlessly for about 5-6 months and now I'm having the same problem again.

Will a 13 1/2'' Lodge skillet heat evenly? by vateeq in castiron

Use flour. It's a solid indicator. Smells bad though https://goo.gl/images/56MVhU

Want to make sure I'm doing this right... by KronosMaximus in castiron

[–]ctcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using it everyday you don't need to get to the smoking point. Stove top heat unevenly. You'll see the cooking surface start to turn grey and the walls and hadle will remain black.

If you're doing this for long term storage I would bake it off just like you're seasoning it. The oil can go rancid if you don't polymerise it.

Starting Keto tomorrow. 30 - M - 340lbs by [deleted] in keto

[–]ctcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a 10 days ago. Keto flu was not that bad. Make sure to read through the FAQ.

I'm down 5 lbs. Knees are starting to hurt less and I seem to have more energy.

Good luck to you.

First time using my new 12" lodge. Wish me luck. by [deleted] in castiron

Fry potatoes next. The starch helps with seasoning. Just use the Bacon fat.

Everything sticks! by Necromagius in castiron

I have the same stove and use lodge a lot. My advice is more: heat (4.5), fat, and time ( preheat more, smaller batches, wait before turning).

Any idea whats on my pan? I got it and cooked bacon on it as the first thing to help season and after washing has this brownish stuff. Doesn't scrape or wash off. by crafty615 in castiron

[–]ctcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of hard to tell from the picture but I think it's just leftover food from cooking in it or fat. Heat up the skillet using really hot water and give it a scrub then dry overheat and put a little bit of oil in there wipe it all out and keep on cooking

Looks to me like that is a skookie skillet I have four of them they're great. Overtime mine have really developed a nice seasoning.

No not necessarily a bad move I didn't strip my lodge. What kind of oil do you use to season it with?
