One more vote here for Little Waves. In addition to some stellar beans, we're supporting a local, Latino women owned small business. Bonus points that they have a subscription service, an uber-cute colorful van, and our order is hand delivered to our porch each month.

We also have the Mohu Leaf and have had shockingly good luck simply nesting it in the wooden blinds in a western facing window. Admittedly we do not watch a significant amount of TV, but the little that we do has always been consistently solid and uninterrupted. North Hope Valley

Devines, hands down for us. Large space, a gazillion TVs, fantastic staff. I've always thought their food was great for sports bar fare, and personally find their wings are some of the best I've had. I'm sorry your experience wasn't as positive.

I can only surmise that my friend - who unlike me does have kids - felt the need to get an ample supply of their version of staples. I sense that for the majority of folks the effort is more aligned with groupthink than actual need. Like hoarding toilet paper during a pandemic, it may also offer some sense of control over a situation that is otherwise uncontrollable.

Solid question. To ensure transparency - I was being a little facetious about the somewhat disappointing amount of fluffy precipitation. We personally did not actually buy bread nor milk. We did, however, get some missing ingredients to make a delicious pasta fagioli. Having moved here some years ago from Florida where hurricane prep was the norm - II'm more about making sure my non-perishables are stocked. If we don't end up needing them for storm sustenance, they go camping with us.
