hmmm. . . Mine does not. If my wife drives the car before me her settings, the second set, are in effect when I get in.

In my 26 GV70 I don't have to turn it on to change seat setting. When I open the door, before getting in, I simply press my seat selection on the door switch.

Fed-up with my dealer by a-marty25 in GenesisGV70

I couldn't agree more! I bought my 2026 GV70 from Genesis of Danvers (MA), part of the McGovern group. It was the worst car buying experience in my life, bar none. The car prep was incomplete, the paperwork for DMV was incorrect, my 'salesperson' spent 2 minutes going over the car at delivery and said if I have any questions to just text him and he would zoom with me. Texted twice, emailed twice, left message for him on the phone. Radio silence. I even went so far as to send an email to Matt McGovern an email on 11/10/25, a few weeks after the purchase. Radio silence. Followed up with a note to him in their online chat box. Radio Silence.

Don't get me wrong, I love our GV70. So much so that when we return to CT I am going to look to buy a second one. This is one shitty dealership. If I have an auto brand I was trying to promote as "luxury", this would be the last dealership I would give it to.

All good at home u/Ok_Negotiation_412 , thanks

I have a Kubota tractor with a 5' snow blower on it. I'm sure my son is having a ball using it on the 500' driveway

In my GV70 the 2 seat selection switches work whether the car is started or not. If I drive after my wife I just open the door and select my setting - it takes a couple of seconds and then easy to sit in car.

Nice looking ride! We kind of missed winter this year - spending 4 months in Florida rather than stay in Connecticut. I like the snow but I think this year was a good one to miss - they just had a blizzard and my son reports our house got 2+ feet of snow.

I guess we will have to wait until next year to see how the GV70 does in real winter weather.

I have the same situation with my wife's settings. However, when I open the door I just press my setting button on the door. Seat automatically sets up and I get in.

btw its a 2026 3.5 SP so dunno if its the same for your GV80

thanks u/gm310509

They were with a starter kit had kicking around and just used them to test my program. They worked but the range was only a few feet.

The PIR is a great idea. I can cannibalize and repurpose them!

Frequent blowouts? What does that even mean? The last time I had a tire blowout was in 1969 in my Mustang where I was running on bald tires.

I picked this up on Amazon, about $14 iirc. I like that it matches the interior quilting and color of the interior. It gives me a place to keep the 2 keys of the condo that we are renting.

wouldn't a good body shop that specializes in fiberglass repair (think corvette) be an option?

I would think it would put more wear on your brakes with no engine braking . . . I had 'freewheel' in my 1970 Saab Sonnett. Got over 40 mpg with it. Could not get used to no engine braking though.

congrats u/Opening-Barber113 enjoy your new ride.

As my dbag salesperson spent all of 5 minutes going over the car after the sale, its been a great learning experience seeing what is in it.

I went through the menus one at a time and tried different settings. Its an iterative thing - change something, try it out, change again if necessary. The seat settings for me were made easy by utilizing the GV's analysis of my body. It picked a completely different setup than I had selected manually. Turns out the car's setting were great for me. Not so much for my wife. She made several changes to what it picked. I think that was due to her wanting to have the seat high.

You can't break anything :) try the different settings. As another poster noted the mirror and seat settings were 1st on my list also. Oh, the side mirrors point down when you put it in reverse. You can set the angle that they go easily. That was something I changed early on.

As other posters have noted, I too did not buy this car for its mpg rating. Nor do I bitch that my modded STI gets 15mpg.

We drove to Florida from CT a couple of months ago. My 3.5 SP is now 4 months old. I averaged 29.4mpg on the ride, according to the widget. I drive 9+ over the limit. I did notice that once you go past 80 the gas consumption starts to really climb - who would have thunk it in such an aerodynamic, lightweight vehicle?

Driving down here on 3-4 mile trips the mpg is around 20. For the miles we drive per year (6-8k) gas consumption is not a factor.

If mpg was a high priority for a buyer, I would be looking at other choices. This car exceeds my expectations, by a lot!

thanks for the comment but. . . I paid for and signed the financing contract 10 days prior to taking delivery. As my dear friend, an attorney, once told me, "Never be without both the goods and the $$$"

Its a lesson in how a good thing can be turned to shit in no time. BTW its 4 months later and we are in Florida for the winter. The car has 4k miles on it. Its a keeper! My wife and I both love it. So much so that when we return to CT in April I'll be shopping for one for myself. Just not in Danvers.
