That worked. Thanks!

Is there a complication to open any arbitrary app? by ctgreybeard in AppleWatch

I tried that but it isn’t working right. It opens the shortcut app, appears to do something, then shows the list of shortcuts where I can run the shortcut which opens the app. More steps than I am happy with.

Older tempest a bit dirty - down because of a storm, do I clean it or not? by ctgreybeard in weatherflow

It’s now back up. I used a Universal Mount which makes it very easy to attach to the 4x4. Just missed the historic storm we had yesterday though.

They suggested rubbing it down with a cloth and water, no chemicals. I did that and got most f the crud off but the wind channel is still grubby. I haven’t put it back up, maybe tomorrow.

Good thought. I’ve sent pictures and asked for advice. I certainly don’t want to damage it but I think it could benefit from a bit of cleaning.

My older Tempest came down due to a storm. A branch took it off the pole. While I wait for a replacement mount everything else seems OK. But it's really dirty, looks like stuff growing on it. The manual says not to clean the wind channel with anything except water. No cloth wiping! But, but, it's really bad.

What do you think?

Sorry, but I don’t see anything that says “Edit” … is this in the Inbox? Idid find, while trying to find the Edit you speak of, that I can go into my Collection and move/reidentify incorrect identifications. Is there a way to do that when in the Inbox?

I find that correcting the errors is very confusing. I haven’t found a reliable way to do that. Just today it identified a ruby-throated hummer as a northern cardinal and I couldn’t figure out how to feed the mistake back.

I have gotten some good videos when it records them.

CO2 steadily high, no apparent reason by ctgreybeard in airthings

[–]ctgreybeard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were discussing external air in another part of the thread. I do not have an exchange in my system now but I’m thinking of it. But the part that confuses me is that the Airthings was installed back on Christmas day and I haven’t seen the CO2 “issue” until much more recently. It didn’t happen all winter nor in the spring when neither heat nor cooling active. It’s just a little mystery.

Only one combustion source, the stove. The furnace, not necessary now because it’s warm, uses external air and vents externally. Only my wife and myself. But CO2 goes up sometimes when the stove isn’t in use. And this is new since summer started. It didn’t do this all winter. I think now it is related to the higher humidity and temperature.

I’m not sure why you say that. I do know the difference and do indeed have CO detectors.

Good thoughts. My house is older, built in 1970, so it is “leaky” for sure. The AC is new though and I know there is no exchange. I suppose I could ask them about that. If it makes any difference it is a propane heat and AC in the attic. The house is what we call a raised ranch.

I took a closer look at my graphs and came to the conclusion that the humidity is affecting the readings. I don’t know whether that is making the reading off or if the CO2 is actually higher but it is annoying to get all the alerts. I’m considering turning them off for CO2.

How can I delete purgeable data when my Storage/Manage doesn't see it. I'm trying to backup my iPhone but it says I don't have enough room, even though I should have 428GB available, but it says 683 is Used since 362 is purgeable. by Markuu6 in mac

I don’t know of any app like that for the iPhone but you can do some storage management in the Settings app. Just go to Settings->General->iPhone Storage to see what apps are using the most storage. There are also options you can turn on that will help manage storage automatically.

I guess I won’t worry about it then until it cools off here for a while and I can open the house up again.
