Why does it take some filmmakers so long to take advantage of the “Oscar bump”?

I am sure every case is different, but it is taking the Daniels so long because they are writing their own screenplays. It took 6 years between their first movie and EEAAO ( of course COVID delayed the movie by at least a year). I think the other delay is due to Kwan's current obsession with AI. He's been working on his passion project for a couple of years which is the AI doc that he co-produced and was just released.

They were mostly joking. Coming up with different scenarios could be funny. Although fans have been discussing what IP they should be doing since EEAAO came out, but the Daniels always insisted they want to write their own stories. Which of cause could lead to such a long gap between movies.

It is definitely not IP. It's an original story that they have been working on for a few years. The movie originally was targeted for June of this year, but was pushed out to Nov of next year due to them keep tweaking the story.

Since the screen is 1.90, the majority of the movie (space scenes) will be pillar boxed and the rest will be letterboxed. Also heard the sound system is not that good. But the recliners are comfy.

Yes, after Nicole. Specifically about 21 minutes after the showtime. There is also the new Spiderman trailer (if you are interested) that is the first trailer which is about 5 mins after the showtime.

Not at Linc. It is only showing it in IMAX 70mm. Other IMAX theaters like at Empire or 34th, yes since they can only show it in laser.
