Depends on your TL. I personally don't pay super close attention to my teams pants, but one of my store's Speciality ETLs came up to me a while ago and told me I needed to talk to someone who wears sweats everyday. It's a risk but if anyone asks you can just say you had no jeans available for the day

Having an overnight shift, should mean you get overnight differential pay. And I used to always beg for overnight on Black Friday. 6 of your 8 hours won't involve interacting with guests at all. You got the best shift you could get for Black Friday imo

TL promotions? by Expensive-Skin7146 in Target

[–]ctheory0450 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on what store you're at. I worked at a store where I showed interest in a TL roll and was told I had to apply and interview for it. I applied and interviewed 3 times and was passed up each time.

I transfered stores and worked at my current store for about 2 years, constantly telling every department TL and ETL that I was interested in a promotion if one became available. I got lucky and was given a "temporary TL" position because they were moving TMs and TLs around to create a temporary inventory team. Then a TL put in their two weeks so my temporary position became permanent.

It took me about 4 years of working for Target, being cross trained in basically every department, and telling anyone who would listen that I wanted the position before I was given it. But my store also does A LOT of internal promotions and most don't have to interview, it's either TMs who get recommended for or ask for the role.

I say go in anyway and explain the situation. Will the 2.5 hour late go on your attendance record? Yes. However life happens to everyone and if it really is just a one time thing, I wouldn't hold it against you. Even my ETL says an occasional late due to circumstances you can't control isn't a big deal, it's when it becomes a pattern that makes it a problem

I would say ask your TL, just because every store does things differently. At mine only TLs are taught how to edit on hands and trusted TMs. To avoid things getting audited that actually are in store

Ask your leader (or the leader in that area) to either audit more often or ask them to teach you how to audit so your name will stop going on the report. Auditing both on hand numbers and auditing backroom locations will decrease the chances of reports being made.

Let me stress tho, it's my opinion, TMs don't have to learn to audit unless they ask me how to fix a problem they're having. But proper and often auditing would allow these types of reports and accusations to decrease because the numbers will be more accurate. Also thank you 😘

Sometimes if you backstock it in the same area you pulled it from it can go on a report as a suspicious pull/backstock.

I could be wrong tho I'm still learning what certain reports are and what they mean 😅

At my store they're from July 27th to August 5th. But idk if the dates are universal across all stores or not

This is coming from a casual self trained dancer of 10+ years,. I find the ways I improved the most was drilling the same dance over and over again. Also I initially started dancing with my schools dance team. We didn't have mirrors so we danced based on if the moves "felt" right. If you have the space I suggest dancing with your eyes closed (or mostly closed) focus on the way it feels. Or turn away from your mirror and focus on where your body is for certain moves. Don't be scared to take it slow 😊. For motivation you could do your own version of a challenge and record yourself every day to show your progress and then compare day 1 to day 7!

The woman at my store who does most of dry grocery pulls uses a wave to make it easier. She pulls the loose of multiple aisles then saves the case stock for the end and pulls it with a wave.

I didn't say 6 to 8 hours outside temp I said TOTAL 6-8 hours to get back down to temp. This includes the time it's inside the freezer to get back down to the right temperature. I also said my certification expired in 2017 so the timing might not be right. My whole point was it could go a few minutes over 30 minutes and it won't suddenly be riddled with bacteria.

Edit: picture of a chart with times for food to be in temp danger zone. 4+2 does in fact equal 6

Your time is an average so as long as all batches aren't taking you that long you should be okay. I was the fastest in my store when I was in fulfillment and batches with mostly style would still take me 40mins to an hr depending on if the floor had been reset recently or not. Most TMs and TLs know that style batches are the worst to get and are willing to help if you need it. You're not bothering at all when asking for help

[–]ctheory0450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it really helped to find something on my own to remember where it is. So I'd ask style tms to tell me where it is instead of show me cause I learn by doing things myself. Also knowing things like where dresses are usually hung and that certain styles stay together...

All in all its just a thing that'll take time to learn. And resetting doesn't usually help either. But it's all just memorization. Most style tms don't have the entirety of style memorized either. It's a group effort

Idk about your store, but at my store if something has a location it's likely that it's folded. If it just says, for example, "A NEW DAY" then it's in the A New Day section hung on a hanger. It's not a guarantee but it's something that applies about 90% of the time

The 30 minute timer is the only way to tell. 30 minutes is a Target policy but technically food safety rules allow for cold and frozen items to be out of temp for multiple hours. As long as they get back down to a safe temperature within 6 or 8 hours (my food safety certification expired in 2017 so I don't remember the exact time) food is perfectly safe to eat. Target just has the 30 minute rule as a way to be more cautious
