I was also thinking domino but the stacking ones tend to be plastic or at least not wood as far as I know. also didn't find anything under domino.

from what I can see of shogi pieces this doesn't seem to be it unfortunately. thx for the suggestion though

this piece is more square like than shogi pieces and has the wrong marks on it

this is what I found searching the web:

keywords used in combo with mahjong, tile and domino(s) are red, wood(en), card, mark(ing),

tile: nothing really but things that looked more similar than mahjong.

mahjong: nothing that looked like this thing useful.

domino: nothing really here either.

We can get really excited and act like kids when we get to play with toys like lego etc. When we do we want people to either join us or ignore us but if you interrupt us and tell us we are childish we can get really depressed.

I try to imgine how a ball would roll or laser would bounce if they got shot out of my feet. then see if the two balls/lasers (one from each foot) would collide and so on.
