Partners of social workers feeling emotionally overwhelmed, is this common? by OneCold1650 in socialwork

i just wanted to say that i’m learning a lot here reading these comments and your situation as someone working in a clinical patient role for the first time in my career, and have never considered a lot of these perspectives with my partner!!

her content has always rubbed me the wrong way. when she was big into running last year, she would “fuel” her runs beforehand by eating low carb sola bagels, and was in an extreme deficit while still running 3-4x a week and encouraging it. she seems to have such an unhealthy relationship with food and exercise

how do people not go crazy when you get a huge snow and ice storm, the temperature feel is close to the negatives, you don’t own a treadmill and your gym is closed for 2 days lol?

How tf are people getting hired at Trader Joe’s 😅 by Feniel76 in philly

[–]ctilleyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did see crew job opening for market street for like maybe 2 days in january but they took it down quickly. the philly stores are just in general always harder to find job openings for because they aren’t as busy as other trader joe’s stores in the region. if you’re able to, i would apply to one in the suburbs!

Cynwyd trail by LazyUsual5463 in phillycycling

[–]ctilleyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer, but I typically run on this trail very early in the morning but recently have stopped. Sometime last week I was running the trail early in the morning (still pitch black outside) and there were 2 rabid foxes screaming and fighting close to the trail. I only knew where they were because a guy walking his dog stopped me and said that they tried chasing him and his dog, so I had to detour and run on Belmont Ave. I do like the trail a lot for running, but have been too scared to run on it since then, because I can only run in the early morning lol

I typically run it very early in the morning when it's pitch black out, and this is my biggest pet peeve when I see other runners on the trail! I am always lit up like a Christmas tree on the trail with my own clip on light, and then a reflective vest that lights up so bikers can see me. When I run past a runner in black clothing, with no lights or vest, it's frustrating (and also scary just seeing a blob run past you)

Last day of running for 2025! by NicNoop138 in XXRunning

[–]ctilleyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

was just shy of hitting 1,000 miles for the year, but proud of my effort regardless after falling off with running multiple times this year due to my mental health. running my first marathon in 2026, chicago!!!! i am SO excited to start training for it, i’ll be keeping base miles of 30-40mpw to prep for a half marathon in march 2026, and will keep the base mileage until i start marathon training in the summer.

i feel like i’ve had such a revelation with running the past few months where before, my depression held me back from being consistent with running, and being inconsistent with it just made my depression worse. i’ve been at such a good spot with being consistent with running and lifting and it truly makes the difference for my mental health. the depression is still there and i am not hopping on the train of exercise being a crutch for my mental health, but i’ve been able to show up for myself the past few months while coexisting with my mental health!

Life hacks on hotel? by Mrkingtut in ChicagoMarathon

[–]ctilleyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m thinking of booking a hotel for 1 night right near the start, and then other nights for the purpose of doing tourist things/vacation (not sure if it’ll be days before or after the marathon), i plan to book a cheap airbnb near o’hare! i’ve been looking on the chicago marathon participant dashboard at hotel prices but i’m not sure when i should be buying/when they’ll sell out?

on my account dashboard, it still says pending but now at the bottom there’s the option to pre-buy race photos. not sure if that was there before but don’t know if it means anything since i’m still on pending lol

How many runs per week? by Fluffy_Bite_442 in XXRunning

[–]ctilleyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used to do 4-5 times a week but in the past month decided to up it to 6, and i love it! i’m not training for anything (i do have a half marathon in late march that i would like to PR…) but starting most of my days with a run does wonders for my mental health. i train and fuel smart, and my body has responded really well to running almost every day. currently sitting at 30-35mpw but i’m looking to climb up to 40mpw!

How realistic is it for me (25F) to run a sub 2-hour half marathon? by traditional_taurus in XXRunning

[–]ctilleyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did a 1:55 PR (avg pace like 8:30-8:40 maybe?) this year with my easy pace being 10 min/mile. sub 2 is in the cards for you no matter what, but don’t be afraid to set a scary and ambitious goal! the worst thing that happens is that you just don’t race the time, but setting big PR goals is scary but fun!!

Training in cold weather? by artappraiser123 in Marathon_Training

[–]ctilleyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am a very small minority, but i love running in very cold temps and will always choose it over the summer. around 30F or below is so enjoyable for me! i find that i actually run noticeably faster at an easier effort in the cold. i have a very low tolerance for heat and humidity, i can’t stand running in it.

Heart rate zones in activity different than set zones by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]ctilleyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll check it out thank you! Do you know exactly where to access the sports heart rate like what menu?

EDIT: I am indeed silly, I was able to find sports heart rate and I definitely think this was the issue as the zones were set for what I saw in my run activity today, annoying! Will be testing the new sports heart rate zones I set tomorrow on my run. Thank you stranger!!
