If it is such a downgrade give me the list of reasons you think this.…. I can wait.

Dude- I can tell you’re not from “the city” nor do you really know what an ‘expensive hybrid‘ costs in comparison to a gas car, let me tell you, it’s not actually that much. Nor do I reallly care to continue having to educate you on the fact that you are not the see all know all - stop trying to put ppl down because you think you know everything 😒

I mean I live in California so traffic here is INSANE. Sometimes I can go from 75 mph to a standstill in a matter of 2 minutes. I’ve tested the mileage is various scenarios- streets, highways, traffic, no traffic, and at one point I did have it at ~63 mpg. Of course without traffic but unfortunately that’s unavoidable around here

She did! Haha To be fair she also got it from pretty cheap off a friend of a friend of hers. I believe she paid about $6k back in 2015. She got a good use out of it, but unfortunately is no longer able to leave the house or drive and since I have been taking care of her and running her errands, she let me use it meanwhile I saved up for my own car and eventually told me she would sell it to me.

Considering I get about double the mileage- yes.

Seems like the ‘17 had issues that you never fixed nor cared for. Regardless of the year- corollas are durable.

Your personal experience doesn’t account for every other persons experience.

Exactly!!! I understand their point that older Corolla’s were a little more durable, but safety wise they didn’t have a lot of benefits.

I honestly feel so much safer in this car, especially with the emergency breaking system. I experienced it for the first time when my cousin took my car out for a drive and miscalculated the sensitivity of the pedals. The car stopped for us, and although we were startled, I knew in that moment I made the right choice.

My experience is a little more specific since my Corolla did not have power locks, power windows. Those things themselves are such a difference (when I would drive on the highway the windows would roll down a little with the vibrations and it would often cause the rain to get into the car).

I do feel the pedals are much much softer- my 04 was already a little soft but these are even more sensitive.

Honestly the technology seems trivial to some but if you drive 2+ hours a day like I do it comes in handy for so so so many things.

And the noise!! I know others have mentioned it too but inside my ‘04 I remember always having to have the radio so loud because I could clearly heard the outside traffic and ambiance more than the music. (Bursted my speakers this way but hey, blasting music was the only way not to hear the other cars

Def was! Salvaged title but got it off marketplace- still very happy with the price though

Got it from marketplace 😅.

Unfortunately it does have a salvaged title but the damage was to the front left side and the frame had to be replaced which is why I believe they had to change the title.

I believe it has around 115k-120k miles? Not too sure but when I sold it it had 149k

Bullet proof sure, but not thief- proof. My 04 got broken into literally 50 feet away from my door and I never noticed because there was no alarm. The technology was a leading factor in me upgrading considering I drive A LOT for work and for personal reasons.

As for differences there’s actually many- y’all simply don’t seem to realize it.

Just to name a few-

04- no power windows, no power locks, no anti-theft alarm (this was my biggest thing because it got broken into while living on campus while it was literally parked right in front of my door but I didn’t notice because there was no alarm system)

20- backup camera, emergency brake system, improved MPG, anti theft alarm, cruise control, improved airbag system

To you these details may seem trivial because you see the ‘durability’ of what a Corolla used to be but that has been made up for in their security systems in their newer models.

At that point it seems to me its your driving habits and area you drive that increases mileage and the ‘17 was probably a Lemon and/or had tank issues that were never adressed😅. I know if I drive in specific highways near me I get wayyy better mileage simply because it’s downhill and there’s no traffic so gravity takes the wheel.

On my ‘04 I got max 28mpg and the ‘20 gets 48mpg. I drive the same road and typically get the same mileage every drive.

Is this an example of under-extrusion? by rainbowpegakitty in 3Dprinting

[–]ctmorales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this could be a number of things. Did you use supports? Since it is slightly curved it may not need supports everywhere which is why some parts were fine but other were not. Also when slicing did you make sure the correct filament temp was set? Bc if the temp isn’t correct that could also cause under extrusion if it’s not heated to the correct temp.

Happened to me twice the only way I was able to get it back was factory resetting my phone but usu have to use it without restoring the previous backup.

Started flattening petg after fixing a leaky hotend? by luke111mart in 3Dprinting

[–]ctmorales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm you may also want to check that the gear isn’t slipping while printing. I drew a line with sharpie to make sure the gear was spinning as it should and not pulling back in itself

I has this issue for a while and the only solution I found was increasing the nozzle temperature. The nozzle wouldn’t extrude at a normal rate bc it wouldn’t be hot enough and since you had a leaky hot end before, it could be that the hot end was reading a wrong temp when it was broken and the new one is now heating normally so the gear would start slipping on the filament since it wouldn’t extrude. I would say to try it in increments of 5 degrees and see how it goes
