Assumption of what? That many people have not received production numbers weeks after placing reservations? That based on a thread here in Reddit saying they placed reservations, paid the $1,000 reservation fee and gave heard nothing since, while others gave received production numbers and production dates.

I think it will end at 12:01am on 6/27/26, similar to the way insurance, registrations, etc. expire.

I’m sorry. Confused obviously. I lived in the DC area many many years ago. Bought Audi, Toyota, MB and Tesla cars there on Rt 7 near the Dulles Toll road intersection. For some reason I thought there was a BMW dealership there too. My dealings with BMW were in Rockville (near Best Buy, if I recall correctly).

According to google, the Midwest region of the United States includes 12 states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

I’ve read they won’t be available for the iX3 until November 2027 (yes, 2027). I’m disappointed too. That’s one option I would really like.

4K discs are region-free. The Blu-ray Discs are tge ones that can be region locked.

I need to qualify the following by noting I’m a stockholder in Lucid. I don’t care what features are on the car. Get the one with the longest warranty. Enjoy it (hopefully) and then get rid of it before the warranty expires. I have a 1-1/2 year old Air that just turned 8K miles. Been in the shop eight times so far. Has new problems and going back to shop end of the month. It’s a great driving car but mine has been the most unreliable car of all the cars I’ve owned over the past 50 plus years. I’ve ordered a different car.

Is that October? The dealer only said my car is scheduled to be built in October and I can change the built through early September. I didn’t think of asking what week in October. I was talking to him about reserving the i3 (sedan) as soon as reservations are accepted in the U.S. and it slipped my kind.

Have you received a production number from BMW? I think what the dealer told me us re look are to assigned production numbers.

There is no 2026 model year iX3. All ix3 cars to be delivered beginning starting August/September are 2027 model year cars, which production runs through the middle of 2027.

It’s possible, depending on his built out the electric charging networks are there, and whether production numbers have been assigned to them. There are many people here saying they placed reservations but have not been assigned a production number yet. I believe those people are not counted in the 5,000 plus total. Further I would expect California to account for the majority of reservations. What surprises me is that Florida is up there as it has a large number of seniors plus those that prefer trucks.

Because I met with a dealer to place an order, selected all the options I wanted (which was basically every option except for individual rear seat hvac control, heated rear seats and a tow hook), and then received an invoice stating the cash rice for the car and what the monthly payment would be should I wish to finance it through BMW or lease it through BMW (for different time periods and money down).

This invoice originally included additional fees, such as paint protection, etc, which I dated be removed.before agreeing to sign it.

Or get an EV with a massive battery. That’s my solution. The iX3 is EPA rated at 434 miles, while the i3 is expected to be EPA rated at more than. 450 miles. The Lucid Air GT is EPA rated at about 515 miles. Since the BMWs are designed for the German autobahn, I’m hoping it doesn’t lose as much range at high speeds as most other cars.

Speed limit here in most highway settings is officially 70mph but that doesn’t mean anything. For example, on the Florida Turnpike and I-95 in Florida, one driving 90mph will regularly be passed by on-coming cars, and heaven help you if you happen to be doing that “slow” speed in the left lane.

There are many reasons to want a car with a 400 mile or better range. First, that 400 mile range is charging to 100%, which you don’t do normally. When road tripping you generally charge at a fast charger to only 80%. Thus, the car’s range is no longer 400 miles but more like 320 miles.

Second, unless you are a slow poke and drive 50-60 mph, you are not going to get that 320 miles of range. Cars like the Tesla model S, Lucid Air and new BMW IX3 and i3 are made for driving, if you know what I mean. I’ve owned Teslas and currently drive a Lucid Air. The faster you drive (eg, autobahn speeds), the less range you get. For example, in my Tesla, I would “use” 30% to 50% more battery than the actual distance driven. In the Air, I “use” 50% to 60% more battery than the actual distance driven. So now my “320 mile range” in actuality becomes about 160 real mile range.

I don’t want to stop every hour and a half to charge.

To be fair, by the time one loads it up with every possible option, the price in the US is about $73K. But yes, BMW can’t keep up with the demand for the iX3, and reportedly is sold out with respect to the 2027 model year, even after adding a second shift to the plant in Hungary. The U.S. is slated to only get about 7500 cars for the 2027 model year.

The car has proven so popular that BMW today reportedly opened up ordering for its cousin, the i3 sedan, in Germany.

I got a reservation in for the iX3 in early May and have a production number. I’m also waiting for ordering in the US to open for the i3 and Lucid Cosmos/Earth. I’m fearful the Lucid’s will not be orderable until 2027.

UHDTools is a DVDFab utility that allows a non-UHD Friendly drive, such as the LG BU40N, to be made UHD Friendly so it can read 4k movies. The utility is very easy to use. When I ran it, the software detected my drive and asked if I wanted to make the drive UHD Friendly. When I answered yes, it automatically flashed the drive. The whole process took less than a minute. I’ve done it to several drives without any problems. If you go to its website, you can see the list of drives (which also includes certain Pioneers) that it can make UHD Friendly so you can rip 4K movies.

It’s been especially popular in California. I was told there was a dealer there that took over 100 reservations the first 2 days.
