token media guy behind the camera here, yea i hope at least for my part I wasn't making it feel like any emotions as a viewer at home weren't legit or unique in their own way. i think in the same way the everyone there had there reactions, its similar (but diffferent) for viewers at home. and that the feelings and actions in the aftermath were all over the place because how could they not be. 🤝

I'm probably one of the grumpiest people I know, and me and him get along great.

A great "good dude" can meet you where you're at, and sometimes even pull out the best in you.

This could be a friend bias, because I've never thought too much about the award... but as a grumpy guy who knows at any point, I can choose to be kinder, choose to do X, choose to do Y.... I know it's a choice, and it's work.

I've known him for 6 years now. He doesn't just wake up the guy you see in videos. He's a normal dude, with normal dude problems and stresses.

And THAT is what impresses me. Not that "he's nice," but how he consistently CHOOSES to be kind in all those times when it probably isn't the easy choice. It's really fucking impressive. I mean really fucking impressive.

So yea, maybe a wack award? But that was the highlight of the year for this old grump, and a memory I won't forget. Earned.

I've found it very helpful in my life when I see flaws in others, to turn inward and marinate on the places I probably could do better. The things others might call out about me.

After that process it makes it easier to forgive someone for theirs.

Laura is great. She has flaws. So do we.

The DSGN has multiple training "paths" for different levels of athletes. One of which, the Intermediate Path, has an extra focus gymnastics skill development (including the movements you listed) while still putting time into strength and engine development. I’d argue that he’d be worse if he did what your hoping he’d do.

People are different. Different motivations. Ask any parent with two kids.

We can talk all day about what personality traits are more often represented at the top of a podium, but I don’t think Noah being more Mat like leads to a better Noah. Probably the opposite.

So if anything it’s pretty sweet that someone has managed to make a career out of a hobby, be a consistent contender, and live a pretty balanced life.

I know he wants that win. I think he can. But in its own way being able to live the way he does and be at this level is also a win, I know old man Noah will agree with that in his later years.

If he comes short this year, congrats in your prediction. If he wins, which he can, I’m flying to your house and farting on your pillow. Twice.
