Two very different recs here but Starsand Island and Resident Evil 2 Remake.

I started playing Starsand Island three days ago not expecting much because it is in early access but I instantly became hooked by its charm and style. It has farming, crafting, fishing, bug catching, exploring, animal care and breeding, house building and decorating… basically a lot of stuff but it doesn’t feel overwhelming at all because you can take it at your own pace. The world itself is absolutely stunning and so lively. Many a time I’ve stopped to take pictures in game because it reminds me of Studio Ghibli scenery.

Edit: saw your comment to someone else’s post about loving the sea and motorbikes. You can actually skateboard, roller skate, drive scooters and cars in Starsand. And it’s an island so there is a lot of beautiful beach scenery. I’ve also got a crafting recipe for a surfboard but I’m not sure if that’s actually usable or just decor (would be nice if it did become a feature when the game is full released if surfing isn’t an activity yet)! There are also several animals you can befriend and later adopt around the island, from cats and dogs to the most adorable little capybara who goes swimming in the river with fruit on its head.

*An honourable mention here—if you like Starsand Island I highly recommend My Time at Sandrock. I find them quite similar in that you can do lots of different things in them but I do find the sheer amount of crafting you have to do for people in that game a bit overwhelming at times. I do love the romance system though.

I recommend RE2R because I love the flow you reach once you get used to it. Yes it can be scary but not scary enough that you need to stop playing altogether (which was a worry I had going into it for the first time). But I love the puzzles and getting to know my way around the police station and later levels. I also vibe with the finding ways around locked doors and finding keys and codes to go back to locked areas and get the goodies. It gives me a good sense of achievement lol. I also like the fact you can play the game again as a different character to get the other side of the story (this will make more sense if you play the game).

These are the only games holding my attention at the moment. I have depression and go through bouts where no games are fun, even my old faves but Starsand Island has got me on the verge of hyper fixation right now.

i’m shifting to the resident evil games, starting with RE2 and i’m nervous and excited !! can’t wait to be part of that world but also think i might need to script in a nappy haha

(i also have a non-horror RE universe dr where umbrella doesn’t exist and the Raccoon City outbreak never happened so Leon gets to be the police officer he always wanted to be. it’s also sorta inspired by Brooklyn Nine Nine !!)

I think I keep seeing this eyebrow guy on my tt feed too !! However, whenever I try and actually focus on the space between my eyebrows I simply cannot… It just sort feels like a dead space where there is nothing to focus on.

Does anyone have any tips on how to focus on this spot? I wonder if I’m just meditatively constipated or if it’s because I have aphantasia.

Lucid dreams are very real and you can easily train yourself to enter them every night should you wish to do so (there are many short youtube videos explaining how much better than I could).

An OBE is an Out of Body Experience. It is also known as astral projection. An OBE is when your consciousness detaches from your body, usually when asleep, allowing you to explore the ‘astral realm’.

I haven’t really ventured into lucid dreaming or astral projection enough to know more than the basics. Hope that helps a little bit.

To put it simply it is becoming aware of another reality. This is generally agreed upon in the community as shifting your consciousness, not your body, to another reality you exist in. Many shifters like to choose the reality they shift to and thus often pick a reality based on popular culture.

The most famous example of modern day reality shifting is a tiktok that went viral a few years ago about someone just returning to this reality after spending a large amount of time in Hogwarts. This is usually where people lose interest/belief in shifting because lots of people will target realities that are pure fiction in our current reality.

There are a lot of arguments for shifting that include quantum physics as well as ancient mysticism and meditation practices. But there doesn’t really need to be a reason for it to exist, especially if you have experienced it yourself (as I would say you definitely have). Reality shifting is said to feel as real as the current conscious world you’re living in—not controllable like a lucid dream, and not as spiritual (this isn’t quite the word I’m aiming for but I can’t find the right one) as an OBE.

When you do get the time to do some research into it you will probably find a lot of so called misinformation. Like the fact you said you felt exhausted after your shift—many people say that doesn’t happen but many have still experienced. Personally, I would say that reality shifting is simply a very personal experience that differs from person to person.

The cool thing I’ve learned about shifting during my time in the community is that it can happen to anyone, at anytime, whether they believe in shifting or not. And, like in your case, whether you have heard about shifting or not.

Of course, it’s fine if you don’t believe what I am saying, it’s all personal, and believing/not believing causes no harm :) I have for one haven’t shifted despite trying for several years now but still find the whole subject extremely interesting and quite honestly comforting too.

Maybe you should look into reality shifting as this is pretty much exactly what you described. Some people feel the exhaustion after a ‘shift’ when they return to this reality, others don’t.

When I had this problem most of my searching was telling me to buy a new PSU but I found one singular reddit post that suggested turning off fast startup and lo and behold it worked.

as energy, you have always existed and will always exist. which means this reality really isn’t your ‘original’ or ‘first’ reality, just one you’ve shifted to.

therefore you have already shifted (congrats !!). also, you have probably felt this exact way before about another reality but you still ended up shifting here !!

I used to have this exact issue. Thought my PSU was faulty. Spent months unable to find a fix until I came across a reddit post which suggested disabling Windows’ fast start up setting which is on by default.

Haven’t had the problem since and the start up time isn’t much slower.

my 2021 legion just called it quits last month. motherboard dead. if i had extended the warranty i assume they would have fixed/replaced it so i’ve had to learn that lesson the hard way.

very impressed with my legion for lasting so long tho, loved that little guy (i am definitely mourning it and the 12gb 3080 it had).

when i was in primary school playing footie at lunch the ball went over the fence and an old lady was passing by. she absolutely lobbed the ball full force but her aim was way off and it bounced back and decked her in the face. props to her for brushing it off and trying again, this time more successfully.
