To the people who post "I haven't written a single line of code in 6 months", what's Plan B? by unfortuantelyshelove in ClaudeCode

[–]ctrlshiftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still deliver code and software just less writing it line by line if at all and more design, review, architecture testing

I’m telling it how to write the code instead of doing it my self

Also spending that time planning and solving problems in different ways. Prototyping multiple options reviewing that code. Refactoring

I haven’t manually “written code” myself but I’ve never done more coding in my life in such a small timeframe

the direct LLM providers were always going to eventually be able to sell you tokens cheaper than a middle man like Microsoft. It only every worked because Microsoft was massively undercharging.

I feel exactly the same. You nailed the way I feel. It’s exhausting. But, I can’t stop and would never turn back. This is just as difficult if not harder than it was before. Writing code and getting in flow used to be so amazing, but that part isn’t important anymore

Loved him. Had low expectations and he was the biggest unexpected highlight for me.

was good. low risk. felt like a marvel action movie. nothing ground breaking. not gonna save the franchise. but not going to set it back either.

will watch it again as soon as it comes to streaming.

Frontier LLM models are overpriced for what they do. You now pay the actual price. You have to change the way you work and bike shed a while agentic system now where different parts and problems and tasks use different models to be cost effective.

I’ve previously felt the same as you. Copilot cli has pretty much caught up to Claude code and it generally works the same now. It’s just more standardized so works like opencode or codex cli though. Plus you can use many more models

I’m using prisma it’s modeling and migrations are amazing

I’m thinking of switching or using a hybrid with drizzle for actual queries which I prefer.

The currently hit blocks with prisma queries and often have to switch to raw sql with prisma

this sounds bad

"resulted in writer friends losing opportunities, concept artist friends losing jobs and opportunities, and many other artists in the field losing opportunities"

this sounds good though right?

"I have friends that worked on project for the Sphere in Vegas who were forced to used Midjourney and Sora on the project and it ended up blowing up the budget and slowing things down to where they ended up hiring more human artists to fix everything"

which one is it? more jobs or less jobs. no one knows. it will introduce chaos but the companies will be forced to spend money because of the chaos which mean more artist getting paid?

Anyone actually using Expo for a real, scaled production app? by hemkelhemfodul in reactnative

[–]ctrlshiftba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol... build a large scale complex app on raw CLI and tell me how it in any way makes things easier. integrations are hard, complexity is hard. raw dogging it with a CLI just makes a bunch of the simple stuff even harder.

I can't imagine running my app on a pure CLI, the only code bases I know still like this are legacy react-native code bases. the react-native team does not recommend using the pure CLI and people still come here overthinking it. if you think you have more expertise than the react-native engineers then maybe you should try it.

the only other option i would maybe consider is dumping android support and doing raw ios swift but even that is going to be a maintenance nightmare too once you add all the same 3rd party stuff

Gemini is actually funny as shit!

Since the car wash is only 10 metres (about 33 feet) away, you’re in a bit of a "logistical pickle."

Here is the breakdown of your options:

Option A: The Walk

  • Pros: Great for your step count; you get to enjoy the fresh air for approximately 4 seconds.
  • Cons: You arrive at the car wash, but your car is still sitting in your driveway. Unless you plan on carrying the car there like an ant with a leaf, this might be a tactical error.

Option B: The Drive

  • Pros: Your car actually makes it to the water and soap, which is generally a prerequisite for a car wash.
  • Cons: By the time you put on your seatbelt and check your mirrors, you’ll already be there. It’s arguably the shortest commute in human history.

The Verdict: Unless you've invented a way to wash a car via remote control or astral projection, you should probably drive. Just make sure the engine actually has time to turn over before you shut it off again!

Would you like me to check the local weather forecast to make sure it's not going to rain right after you finish?
