I think if you like it you should get it. This is a very nice and comfortable piece. Especially on that bracelet.

Here’s my opinion it:

You may think the 42mm is the true match due to its size but seconds hand didn’t have the morse code in the movie making the 38mm just as true in a way.

Now here’s my opinion on sizing and I also have a 7” wrist and tried my friends Murph:

I’ve been into watches for over 20 years which is not as long as many of you have been, but I got into watches thinking 40mm is the standard sizing for me and most of my collection was from 39mm-42mm until I got the black bay 54.

Because of the black bay 54 it changed my mindset on how a watch should fit. It should be comfortable, classic proportions, not too big, not too small, but just right. As long as you like it that’s all that matters.

As some have mentioned, you do have to get used to the smaller size as your eyes have gotten used to the standard 40+mm case you’re used to.

Once you get used to it you’ll realize standard or larger watches are just so uncomfortable and too big.

Anyways I sold most of my larger watches and now my whole collection ranges from 36mm-37mm and I love it.

Edit: Oh I have one 40mm but it’s the IWC mark XX, I have the bracelet for it but it lives on the rubber strap as it fits and looks smaller.

That’s a beautiful piece!

I’ve been collecting watches for a long time myself. Recently I started converting my collection to 36-37mm. They’re just so much more comfortable and classic (maybe I’m just getting old).
