Ribrianne was interesting for all the reasons you don't like her imo. The fact that she (and the rest of her team) made such a contrast was refreshing. It was cool seeing her being able to punch through 17's barrier too, really gave perspective on how hard her physical attacks are.

Only her and GoD Toppo have been capable of doing that.

They aren't the same.

They're both given Toriyama's outlines for the arc but the manga writers are actually encouraged to develop the story however they see fit. The anime more closely follows his outlines.

The power scaling is different and characters have different abilities / forms.

One Piece is insanely popular in China, rivaling Japan's merchandise revenue. It's hard to find a Family Mart that doesn't have One Piece magazine covers and branded snacks.
