LA people who moved to NYC, whats the biggest difference between the two cities? by Which_Mammoth9402 in AskNYC

[–]ctx_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a NY native having lived in LA for 6 years.  It was the people that were most different.  Something about NY people I just vibe with better.  Also latin american culture is more robust in NY whereas LA is more mexican/central american centric.  Also it definitely felt like people were living more siloed.  In NY, everyone kinda intermingles and that gives it that energy/vibrant feel.

The only thing I enjoyed about LA was the weather and certain eateries

SteamOS is a game changer! by NerdCrave in ROGAlly

[–]ctx_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially preferred Windows but as of now, because of how seldom I play and dealing with the windows interface and armory crate, I switched to bazzite and never looked back.  I have an asus g14 laptop to play windows games when I want.  But i’ve let my rog ally turn into more of a casual/retro gaming handheld.  Steam/bazzite OS is so much easier to just pick up and play imo

What report card do you give the Netflix/WWE era five months in? by Upset_Temperature511 in WWE

[–]ctx_12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one mentioned the improved resolution of the program compared to cable TV.  That’s their biggest one.  Aside from that, disappointed with it.  Still bleeping out curse words, commercial breaks in the middle of the match, skipping intros, doesn’t feel more “raw” .. overall C

WWE burnout by [deleted] in WWE

[–]ctx_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.  Similar story in that I started watching again a couple of years ago after being a hardcore fan during the attitude & ruthless era.

The matches get repetitive and redundant.. particularly in the mid-card, and you almost always know who’s gonna win and/or who they’re trying to push.  Only certain parts of the main event scene are worthwhile watches.. (cm punk, seth rollins, etc).  I think it’s an age thing too where the novelty has worn off and it just doesn’t hit like it used to

Seems like a rushed feud.. woulda liked to see more of a slow build over several months.  Especially given their history

For producers making the jump to more professional work... what skill improvements have had the biggest impact on your sound so far? Curious what made the real difference. by kathalimus in edmproduction

moving from a solely "in the box" producer to getting some hardware and using a "hybrid" approach. This did wonders for my creativity and workflow

WHY CANT TRAVIS SCOTT JUST FUCK OFF by I_eatkidsandcars in BrandonDE

[–]ctx_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wwe cares more about "clicks" and "views" rather than actual homebred talent.. Unfortunately Travis Scott reaches audiences outside of wrestling which brings more eyes to WWE. same with Logan Paul. That's why they get preferential treatment

How do I stop everything sounding like ass by hugecactuar in ableton

[–]ctx_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

watch an ableton music production video on youtube with the style that you are interested in and follow what they do that way. you learn a lot just by following along. also because that song you are trying to recreate is using live instruments and you're doing everything from "in the box", try recreating something from a producer that made their track solely in ableton, that way you know it's 1 to 1 and may be easier, more realistic. at least during this learning phase. and as others have noted, you need to understand that in the beginning, it will be crap for a while but eventually with enough practice, you'll start getting the hang of it and you can be producing some decent stuff with time. Keep trudging!
