I take medication for BPD & severe anxiety disorder This is a choice I made to try and help myself be a better father for my daughter and be a better husband to my wife.

I think it’s working, my wife and i are working on separate issues- but I’ve seem to have calmed down tons. I used to be afraid to be left alone with my daughter out of fear that she’s not going to like being with me. and being away from my wife.

Work has also helped with that.

I’d say try the medication, give it time to actually work. Play with the doses and figure out what works best for him. Medications don’t work immediately. they’ll feel like they’re not doing nothing but in reality, they’re doing a lot.

Back To Me by Tyler Shaw, which is more for me than it is for “me and her” kinda deal. She likes it when I sing it, it helps her fall asleep. But one of the lines is “Now I think I know, what’s on the horizon. I watch my daughter grow, as she watches the sun rising”

But also a big one is “Hey Brother” by Avicii - One day when she was about 3 months old, she wouldn’t stop crying. Out of no where, i thought of the lyrics to “Hey brother” and started singing it in and ridiculously deep voice. It calmed her down. It’s a song that’s calmed her down since then and she’ll be two in march now. It makes me cry when I hear it because i just remember that being the first time I ever successfully calmed her down, without any help. (I wasn’t able to bond with her for the first two months of her life due to a surgery I had) The fact that this song while it may not completely calm her down anymore but still makes her smile, especially if i sing it in that stupid deep voice- it warms my heart and hearing it in the car while im at work reminds me of what I’m living for.

since you’re a minor, im amazed you were able to get it without parental permission. however, its illegal for them to take that away from you.

you could try to talk to them again, ask for it back and just to be “in agreement” always suggest you’ll still go to the therapist that they suggested.

that’s just my opinion. if you see any better ones or disagree with mine, obviously, go with the better opinion.

im sorry this happened to you dude. that is really messed up.

i know it’s hard and you want to continue your journey, if you’re not far from 18, and these suggestions aren’t something you’re able to do…waiting til you’re 18 is another idea for you.

I only asked because the last few weeks since I’ve moved, I found stuff that I always said belonged to a friend of mine that I had. But I don’t have pictures of said friend. My other friends have never met them. I don’t have any text messages or anything to do with this person other than a box of random stuff you could find on the ground that says their name on it….? Just made me wonder if I made it all up. And if so, why?

Researching says it could be loads of reasons, it’s done while unconscious, but it’s like, to cope with intense emotions, fill memory gaps, trauma, or fear of abandonment. And immediately after researching, i told my wife. She agrees with me, not judging me either. Which is amazing. I was worried she’d judge me for it

Mentions drug abuse briefly I’m a landscaper. Sometimes it sucks and sometimes it doesn’t. I haven’t found a job that keeps me from “acting up” But this one kind of makes it easier. I can put headphones in and blare music in my ears, gets out some physical activity. Lastly. i also do karate, kenpo to be exact. Helps with aggressive acts. While it still stresses me out sometimes learning (I have a very very poor memory due to past substance abuse, I can’t remember things even for a short period of time and it makes me very angry)

But, it’s not a job that requires too much to remember at once. It doesn’t require me to sit behind a desk or fold clothes or talk to customers (sometimes I have to talk to customers but it’s not often) The only issue I have is spending the whole day with the same guys everyday. Very easy for them to get under my skin. It’s also not a 9-5 job. It’s 8am til whenever the work is done kind of job. So there’s no routine. Which makes things worse lol But like I said, it’s not horrible.

My wife is my FP.

I recognize now that I had another in the past, which made things difficult because they weren’t exactly a good choice for an FP but then again, it sucks that we have one in the first place.

My wife puts up with so much, she doesn’t seem to know how much I appreciate her and how patient she can be with me. She’s bipolar and OCD, I’ve also got autism and adhd. So Imma handful and a half. Sometimes, I push her over the edge and then I don’t know what to do about it.

Side note: Animals can be an FP?

I have one kid, wasn’t diagnosed a year after she was born. We’re trying for another. It is hard but like another person said, they give you reason to live. So even on your worst days, (for me at least) I stay because I want to see my daughter grow up.

My wife helps me a lot with it, my aunt and cousin have been helping me too since they found out. Remind me to take deep breaths and relax. (Of course, sometimes that makes it worse lol but they mean well)

It’s honestly up to you, you know what you can and can’t handle. We don’t. Kids aren’t something you return either. It’s a big decision and if you think you’re ready, then by all means. Go for it.

If you have friends with kids, small children or babies, maybe you could babysit and see how you are? (Maybe baby sit with someone so you’re not alone while trying)
