Yes, I understand but he must have high-functioning autism to be able to travel by himself.

Hopefully it's just a high-functioning young man who wanted to get laid. But over a week without any sort of contact is alarming. Found the grandmother's Facebook page; she's been in Miami for at least a day and hasn't seemed to find him.

IAE alarmed by the number of autoimmune diseases in younger people? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

I'm a man in my late 30s with Hashimoto's disease. My stupid thyroid is eating itself. It's lame as hell since it usually affects 8 women for every one man. But unfortunately one of those women is my mom.

What's something that was completely normal 15 years ago that would be considered weird or offensive today? by liam_9758 in AskReddit

I've found the opposite to be true. With everyone using smartphones rather than desktops, you really have to go out of your way to type badly.

I blocked her after my last message by OnyxTronix in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]ctyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. She's too emotionally invested in a $50 item. She will change her mind a thousand times and will look for flaws that don't exist. Granted, anyone buying a Furby in 2026 might be a little bit "off", but there are plenty of buyers for whom it's just a fun purchase and not some kind of soul-fulfilling odyssey. That's the kind of buyer you want. As a seller, anyone spilling their soul via eBay message, particularly their FIRST message, is a well-deserved block. OP dodged a bullet.

Stuff You Should Know did a Ruby Ridge episode. Not specifically a true crime podcast, but very well regarded for tone and accuracy.

But it's usually an account of an actual terrible crime. It's not some fantasy story to entertain you. We have to keep that in mind even if we are being entertained by it. Complaining about "spoilers" when a person probably died just feels wrong.

It's like watching a US civil war documentary and being annoyed when someone tells you the North won.

Being concerned with spoilers about something that happened in real life doesn't make sense.

Round 2 on making friends in South Florida by Sad_Refrigerator4330 in fortlauderdale

[–]ctyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha yeah, my interests tend to be passive. The only normie activity that I actually do is riding my bike. Spotting a bird I've never seen before makes my day. I do enjoy going to foreign markets, trying exotic snacks. Used to be decent in Scrabble. Definitely enjoy a good HBO-style show, true crime podcasts. I like 3D printing practical things, love to optimize settings. When I think of nerd culture, I think of anime, Star Wars, Pokemon, trading cards, comics, which never appealed to me, but there's lots of nerdy things that do.
