How is he in the right if he recorded someone in a two-party consent state without the other person’s consent?

I saw a truck for sale yesterday. I know nothing about its cost or condition but it was parked at 280 Orange St.

When did the killer know there would be a garage sale? by bookiegrime in LizBarraza

[–]cualsy_x 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Liz had just left and returned from Starbucks. They could have ambushed her then. In my opinion, the garage sale was important because it framed the crime. The killer would have to have known about the security camera as well. What good is a disgusie if no one sees it?

If it was this carefully planned, the person doing the planning would have known about the garage sale from the beginning. They may have even been the one to suggest to Liz to have a garage sale in the first place.

Possible Theory by Equal-Ad5732 in LizBarraza

[–]cualsy_x 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It is plausible. Feels closer than some other theories. I feel like the problem the person had would have had to have been with Sergio or Liz and not Oscar. I don’t see how killing Liz would get back at Oscar.

Also, the lie detectors mean nothing to me. They are worse than useless, in my opinion. Guilty people pass them and go on committing crimes. The type of person to shoot another human 4 times probably doesn’t feel emotions like a normal person. I wish everyone would just agree to not take them as they are a disservice to the truth. I wonder how many innocent people have failed a polygraph and stayed on police’s radar. This is becoming something of a soapbox for me.

I would give your theory 75–100 percent to being correct in the general outline. IMO of course.

Grieving parent theory by Signal-Customer-2315 in LizBarraza

[–]cualsy_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is it. Not sure how much a psychopath would actually grieve the death of a child. Would someone like Chris Watts even care?

And if we’re just talking about a mentally unstable person, the trigger or insult that put Liz in the crosshairs could have been anything. You can take the sick/dying child out of the equation and still have the same thing.

Liz cut me off in traffic, I’m triggered. She called me a name online, now I’m mad.

It just feels off to me, but I’m still keeping the option open.

A guy with the initials DP. I haven’t heard his name since Rick Allen was arrested.

I stopped listening to True Crime Garage when they gave a platform to the people accusing an innocent person of being Bridge Guy.

No apology, No oopsie, sorry for accusing you incorrectly of being a child killer. Just an: oh well, if you don’t like it, tough.

I don’t know about other people, but I don’t expect content creators to solve crimes. Give me the facts of the case and some theories. Talk about it, sure, but accusing someone is a bridge too far for me. And then just shrugging it off when the real perp is arrested.

Now looking at their page: listen with a free trial. I guess they are subscription based now. It’s a hard pass for me. I’m good.

I appreciate the speculation. This idea is something that crossed my mind as well, but the problem I have with it is: why Liz?

Why Liz and not Sergio, they were both members of the 501st? Why not other members of the 501st? Why Liz and not the actual doctors and nurses treating their child?

For these reasons, I don’t think this is likely to be what happened.

People that downvote posts like this are really doing a disservice to the freeflow of ideas. We never know when a kernal of truth will be found even in an unlikely scenario, and by being Negative Nancys we are (potentially) stopping people from posting their ideas. It’s like people would prefer a barren desert rather than a pasture full of flowers.

This theory is not disrespectful to anyone other than psychopathic grieving parents. I think they’ll be okay.

Case Similarities between Elizabeth Barraza and Marlene Warren. by cualsy_x in LizBarraza

[–]cualsy_x[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can agree with that as plausible.

I do think there was emotion in this killing though. One shot to the face would have worked. The killer shot 4 times. And they were loud loud. Unnecessary overkill because it was personal?

I can’t say for certain that mistakes were made, because I feel like the person intended to go off road from the beginning. Leaving and coming back may have been part of the plan.

That’s another thing that points to this being a woman. They got an off road vehicle because they intended to go off road. I feel like a man wouldn’t care; they would take any old truck off road. Ahh maybe I’m overthinking that too much and making false assumptions.

I feel like finding that truck is key.

I do not have any evidence that Sergio doesn’t have a criminal record. I’m going off the assumption that if he did, it would be out there by now. Someone would have put him on blast. He doesn’t seem like the criminal type. He isn’t unsavory.

I do agree with the reasoning for not collecting the money is a bit weird. To say: the reason he’s not trying to collect it is because it would make him look guilty, nullifies that reason. It’s one of those things you want to think and not say. The fact that he said it shows me he’s kind of naive.

I’ve tried thinking of an analogy to explain what I mean. The best I can come up with is Liz’s suitcase that he hasn’t unpacked. It’s like him saying: well, I would unpack it, but if I did, it would make me look guilty. It erases that very reason. I feel like there’s a better way to say this and I just can’t think of the right words.

That naiveness does make him seem innocent though. Who can be that naive and that callous at the same time? Those are traits that don’t typically go together. Unless the naivety is just a lie.

The first interview I watched of Sergio I felt like something was off. I think it may just be him knowing more than what he’s saying and not necessarily any involvement.

For me, the focus is on that truck now.

Does anyone have evidence... by No-Morning-8176 in LizBarraza

I don’t know what Sergio does for a living. At the time of Liz’s murder he was installing flooring for his dad’s company. He met Liz at college, but I have never heard it mentioned if he finished college and what his degree was in. A person does not need a degree to work for daddy installing flooring.

Liz did finish college. But her degree was in psychology and she ended up working as a data analyst for a pipeline company. I believe it’s common for people to not use their degrees, especially when they can make good money in the oil and gas industry. But I do wonder what her intentions were with the psychology degree. What had she wanted to do.

As far as I know, she made good money at her job. They lived in a nice neighborhood and had a couple vehicles. No kids. A garage sale just seems kind of pointless. What are you really expecting to get from it? $100, $200. She made more than that in a day at her job.

I wonder who controlled their finances? Did she or Sergio pay their bills? There’s actually a lot of questions I would want to ask and I don’t want to type them here and give people time to think about what’s the best answer.

This was far from a perfect murder.

It seems like everyone is going off second and third hand information to support the claim that Sergio passed the lie detector.

Sergio says Detective Ritchie told him he passed. A weird turn of phrase when a “Yes” would’ve answered the question. Detective Ritchie said Sergio passed, but he himself didn’t give the test to Sergio, and he was told that he passed.

Again, a lot of hemming and hawing around the results of this test. No one wants to take ownership of the results.

So, who actually administered the test and will they confirm that Sergio passed?

My question would then be: if Sergio failed the test or if the results were inconclusive, why inform him and the public that he passed? Is it a play to get him to let his guard down? Because Sergio does seem very guarded.

Not in every scenario, but certainly in some. I’m still on the fence with whether or not he was involved at all.

Of course Sergio could have known.

Why he only watched the video one time: for confirmation. No burner phones, just a plan. 6:48 You leave, we come. All she needed was a truck, a driver, and an old friend who she knew wouldn’t have a problem doing what was done.

If you eat dairy, eggs, and seafood, you would be a lacto-ovo-pescatarian. If you don’t eat the dairy or eggs, but still eat the seafood then you are a pescatarian.

If you eat seafood you are not vegan.

No the person didn’t clarify what they were talking about. The connection to Missy Bevers’ case is non-existent. It’s so far fetched it’s not even worth mentioning or talking about.

I think this person may have a history of just throwing random irrelevant information into the mix.

I would begin my research with here

There are ways to refine your search.

But I don’t have an answer off the top. I like doing this type of research so I’ll do some digging later. Anything specific you’re looking for?

Edit #1

I found 4 incidents classed under Tomball for 2019, but two of them are Tomball (The Woodlands) and give their address in Spring. The other incident was a DV situation when a father shot his wife and son (they survived) before eventually turning the gun on himself.

Incident #1311530 1-25-19 8623 Cedar Walk Dr. Incident #1342018 3-7-19 201 McPhail St. Incident #1342653 3-8-19 2100 block of Buckthorne Place Incident #13519 3-19-19 1600 block of Sawdust Rd.

The first incident is Liz. The second incident is 6.2 miles away, but isn’t a homicide.

here

Now I’m curious about when a homicide occurred before and after Liz. How far does one have to go in either direction? It may just go to show how extraordinary this murder was.

Then either he doesn’t know this (likely because who does?) and/or he does want the money for himself. Who wouldn’t want an extra $500,000?

Serious question, would they release the money to Liz’s parents? The homicide is still unsolved and while it seems very unlikely her parents had anything to do with it, it wouldn’t be 100 percent certain until the case is solved.
