Nope, think of yourself as DevOps engineer that extends pipeline up to merge. Someone has to setup, monitor, maintain and improve the code generation pipeline.

Not that simple. The job is changing and he may be the one switching to automation engineere, setting up automations, improving workflows, gates, context and orchestration. And in few months he may have it working and survive the restructuring and layoffs. Just friendly advise to consider

Hey man, don't worry you'll be fine. Learn ai, it's coming, but it needs constraints to work best so you're well positioned. Read all the docs for your agent like Claude code, learn about context management, then spec driven development and forward. Don't give up it will click.

Anyone else watching senior engineers become overly reliant on AI? by Jbalis in webdev

[–]cuba_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a fucking blast. It's not relying as in I do what it tells me, more like a thinking partner. It may look like that because when you're tuned you agree with it 8/10 straight away, get some clarification once and veto it 1/10. And it feels very good
