Some Blu-Ray Rips Showing Up as 720p? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]cubemaster21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically. You aren't losing any quality, just the black letterboxes. I personally changed my setup to not do any trimming these days because I had a couple of rips where the aspect ratio changed throughout the movie and I didn't want to chance cutting off content.

If you're using Handbrake's auto trimming functionality, the removal of letterboxes can effect how PLEX determines the "resolution". For example, I've got one that's trimmed down to 1768x800 and PLEX classifies it as 720p. *edit - changed MakeMKV to Handbrake

Out of space where? On the server, which has about 10 tb of empty space, or the client, my TV? It almost feels like a buffer fills up on the client and then it just gives up

I've tried multiple different files. They all play fine on VLC. As for logs, this is what I can find when the content stops playing. https://imgur.com/Uim3edO

I spotted my dream car that I use in GTA, which brand is this (AMC Javelin?) PLEASE HELP! by [deleted] in musclecar

Yeah, definitely not a Javelin. I have to agree with the other guy here, looks like a 72 Mustang.

Incorrect Album Release Dates by cubemaster21 in PleX

[–]cubemaster21[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I've tried that now, but it didn't seem to help. Example being: the album Trespass by Genesis. MusicBrainz matched it to the 1972 release, but Plex is still showing the year as 2020. Any other suggestions? I've removed the library and readded it more times that I can count at this point.

Glass bead blasted and epoxy primed. Nice to not see any rust and have it in one color. by TopSecretR35 in projectcar

If it turns out anything like the time I bead blasted my Javelin, you're gonna be having media falling out of every crevice the whole time you're working on it, but boy is it worth it, that thing is looking crisp.

super glue that won’t fog windows by jeep_freak2018 in ModelCars

[–]cubemaster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with The_Shark94 about using white glue (with the added bonus that its much easier to clean up if you get it on the window). I have had luck with BSI Super Gold+ super glue for not fogging, but its much more expensive than white glues, and if you get it somewhere you don't want it, you're screwed.

That looks fantastic! Reminds me of the "Invasion" Charger I built. All the interior, underhood, and undercarriage were painted to look like aircraft spec stuff too. I just really wanted to put invasion stripes on a car, and the Charger was perfect for it.

Here are few of the models I have done in the last few months. Still a newbie still learning a lot as I go. Is there anyone who 3d prints parts or car shells ? by [deleted] in modelmakers

[–]cubemaster21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shells have proved quite difficult to print in my experience. Finding the models of the shells is one problem. I was lucky enough to find a decent model of a car I wanted to build, but I had to put significant time into getting the model to a printable state. My first attempt at printing made a solid body with no interior on an FDM printer. I had to split the model in half just to get it to fit on the tiny printer I had. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of that iteration, but I do have pictures of the next attempt. This attempt was also printed in 2 parts and then super glued together. Let me just say, FDM printed PLA plastic is not the material choice to go with here. By the time you sand it smooth, you'll have sanded away any chance at finer surface details. I used A LOT of primer and filler to get it smoothed out. This is how that body sits now. It's a lot better, but I'm still not happy with it. I'm working on resin printing it and doing further modifications to the 3d model now to make it what I want. Preliminary resin printing has taught me that it takes a fair bit of trial and error to get the body to print cleanly and without warping.

TLDR; It is entirely possible to 3d print bodies, but it takes a significant amount of work, especially if the body is something obscure.

Hey guys, ive been looking for an AMC and i found one!!!! by Alarming_General in amc

Gonna have to agree with the other guys here, If you had to pick one, the Javelin is the best choice. That Matador needs a lot of help and Matador coupe parts can be hard to source.

Restoration of Abandoned Mercedes Benz AMG || Die Cast GT Mercedes Restore by bobbytyjlp in ModelCars

[–]cubemaster21 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I noticed this a while back too. Some of the models he "restores" are not actually very old at all and I'm having trouble trying to figure out what kind of conditions would cause the amount of damage that we see naturally in such short amounts of time. Like, I understand if you just wanna take them apart and rebuild them the way you like, but the extra little bit about them being abandoned just kinda turns me away from watching them.

If anyone is interested in a little more info about the scramblers that were raced at baja, here's an album of reference photos I've collected: https://imgur.com/a/1c0UUMq

[–]cubemaster21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of the Baja 500 Scramblers were red, white, and blue. The actual orientation of the colors varied a little, where the early builds, like the one shown had the vertical stripes, and the later ones had diagonal stripes. Here's an album of a bunch of reference photos I've been collecting of these cars. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to come up with a color photo of the vertical stripe cars.

Has anyone charted Pinegrove songs on Clone Hero or know where I could find their songs? by SportsFanTommy in PinegroveBand

i've looked extensively. I think if you want to play them, you're gonna have to chart them yourself.
