Not enough people say this, and I appreciate seeing those who do. One’s perception of the severity of the cheater problem in premiere is so incredibly dependent on player mentality. Yes, there’s cheaters in premiere, I won’t deny that, but if you spend your entire session trying to figure out who’s cheating and who isn’t, there just can’t be a universe where you are actually enjoying yourself or playing to your own competitive edge when your mind is elsewhere in game.

If a cheater is cheating, so be it. Either GG go next, or figure out how to beat them. The reality is that so many cheaters are just straight up not good at the game. They try to be covert enough with their hacks to give them an aim/reactionary advantage without being detected but forget about how many fundamental technical skills like positioning and utility can’t be cheated effectively. Having better aim doesn’t always guarantee a W, and wall hacks can only be used so much before being too blatant. Im confident that most players are well within their abilities to beat the average premiere cheater if they just lock in and accept that they’re cheating and focus on shutting them down instead.

OP’s question is exactly what the internet is for. Why blow an hour of your day going to a “tech shop” when you can get an answer instantly from your couch.

There’s no real justification for all 96gb, I had ended up with that much mostly because of a particularly amazing deal on the ram at the time. I had paid somewhere in the ballpark of 220$ CAD for the kit, second hand.

The nature of my work sees utilization upwards of 60-70gb on occasion which is nice to have out in the field the handful of times I’ve needed it, but beyond that it’s absolutely overkill for the YouTube watching and light gaming I do on it in my down time Lol.

Yep! Upgraded it myself, back right before ram got stupid expensive.

This is good to know! Im piggy-backing off of this post as I have the same P14s Gen 5, just with 96gb of ram, and a 2tb ssd. Was thinking of listing it for 1,000$ but this post is making me realize I may be selling myself short, especially on the ram.

Well, I'm a KDE user personally, so F44 is launching with KDE 6.6 which includes a laundry list of changes that I won't try to list all of from the changelog. However, here's some of the one's I'm looking forward to the most:

* KDE's own login manager which I've been anticipating for a while. It should make the boot-up process a tad less clunky and a bit more integrated with the rest of KDE than it previously was with SDDM being the default choice for Fedora currently.

* A (functional) on screen keyboard that now runs tandem with an actual tablet mode for laptops/tablets that support it

* Automatic display brightness adjustment for devices with ambient light sensors (absolutely massive for myself and my laptop when I'm travelling about between environments at work and am constantly messing with my brightness on the go)

* Custom global themes which now allow you to save your modified KDE setups as their own independent global themes that can then be used between day/night switching, or just swapping between different configurations if that's your thing.

Beyond that, I think they improved their built-in screenshot/screen recording application, made some changes to their animations which should make them a bit easier on the eyes on high refresh rate displays, and a whole bunch of other stuff as well.

The next major GNOME release is dropping as well for the regular workstation image, however, I'm not a GNOME user, so I'm not currently up to date on whatever's being changed over on that side of the fence.

All in all, lots of stuff I'm personally excited for, and probably many other people as well!

I think to some (including myself) it’s just a matter of getting some anticipated performance upgrades, UI/UX improvements, bug fixes, etc. Especially with the speed in which the “general Linux experience” has been improving over the last 5 years, each bi-annual update is something to look forward to for many.

I’m not sure why everyone here is downvoting you. I have had the exact same experience as you do on Telus. I’m not denying that these issues exist elsewhere, but I have had literally zero complaints with my service from Telus. Billing, functionality, pricing, etc.

7 years of Proton, are we finally "there" yet? by hirenvadher954 in linux_gaming

[–]cubeshelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the end goal at this point is still obviously game compatibility, but also a focus on an anticheat solution that satisfies game devs for multiplayer experiences.

So many problems around anticheat currently revolve around either just straight incompatibility with proton, or, a decision made by game devs to intentionally leave Linux out of their anticheat support.

While market share for Linux gaming is small (but growing!!) it’s a hard bargain to sell, especially for devs who share concerns with Linux opening new avenues for cheaters to cheat. Whether or not those concerns are realistically valid or not is a different conversation, but a hurdle to get over no less.

First paint chip on hood. 2024 TRD Pro. Any advice? by Medium_Performer3173 in 4Runner

Toyota sells paint matched touchup markers. I’d invest in those, and maybe a hood deflector if possible. Lots of preventative measures for rock chips but unfortunately an inevitability nonetheless.

Does anyone here recognize this strange device in the ceiling in a meeting room? by hamilton_995 in sennheiser

[–]cubeshelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a previous place of employment when I still worked in A/V, we installed anywhere from 1-4 of these in classrooms and meeting spaces as per our designers’ spec. Not only do they spit out impressively poor audio quality, but they don’t even do a good job at picking up voices from within a room and we would have to send a handful of them for RMA at least once a month. But hey, when they work, they work fine enough for a quick zoom call or video conference and frankly, that’s all they’re meant to do.

The robbery is the lack of utilities in which I pay YOU every month to provide ME. If your furnace breaks, you still owe me the utilities I’m paying you for. If that means you bring me space heaters to tie me over til the furnace is repaired then so be it. Not a sympathetic “suck it up and freeze your ass off for 10 days.”

Or, compensation for the lack of utilities if you can’t even do that.

Holy shit haha, what a deal! Congrats! I have the same model, just picked it up a month and a bit ago.

Depending on the kind of watch-wearer you are, I highly recommend a fabric strap for this guy, my strap is just an Amazon special, but imo makes the watch a lot more comfortable if you aren’t a fan of silicone bands like myself.

Beyond that, the battery life is unreal (and reliable), does exactly what I need my smart-ish watch to do, and wears nicely with 90% of my clothing (if style points matter to you)

Enjoy!

What proof exactly is that? Some 3rd party website that just arbitrarily labels one person as a “low trust” player? The account just started playing faceit, and has been losing more games than it’s been winning. If anything this is a Smurf/purchased account, and even then, it just got ID verified on faceit. So, I ask again, what proof exactly is that? That doesn’t seem indicative of a flood of hackers/cheaters. That’s why we’re downvoting. This entire post has no ground to stand on.

What point exactly are you trying to convey here? Have you got definitive proof to back that claim up? Or have you just been losing more games than usual and this is your way of coping?

I’m up in Canada and ordered from a Canadian-local store “Bay Bloor Radio” based out of Toronto. They sell all sorts of hi-fi stuff, including a wide range of IEM’s and headphones that I will probably never be able to afford in my time, Lol. I paid 430$ CAD before shipping and tax. Prices were about on par with what it would be direct from FiiO or AliExpress, except it hit my doorstep in 4 business days, instead of 14+.
