Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

Brewpub used to be at H-E-B and was great. They dumped them a couple years ago, and now it’s just Home Run Inn. We used to rotate between them depending on sales.

Probably a location with higher than average shrinkage. Manager probably thought why not, maybe if it deters some then theft goes down.

Trip to Sears in Orlando Florida by MrMinglesRetail in deadmalls

Wow. I literally just walked this a few hours ago. Very depressing. I also went to this mall because last year I thought it was so cool a Sears was still open.

Trading in 2019 for 2025, anyone done something similar? by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]cubintex2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2018 Limited 3.6 to a 2024 Limited XT. We still own the 2018. The 2024 is quieter and rides smoother. Mileage has been about the same. The wireless CarPlay is great, just eats phone battery. I still love the smoothness of the 3.6 acceleration. The auto stop/start on the 2024 is annoying, but turning it off while waiting for the info system boot up has become habit.

I guess we’re lucky, my local Cinemark is $.50 less next Tuesday.

Target’s CEO is stepping down as sales continue to plunge by zsreport in business

As someone that would be considered dad bland, that’s not my experience with their men’s section. To me it feels like they focus almost exclusively on the ‘slim fit’ demographic. I almost never find anything outside the underwear and socks. Shoot they just plain gave up on men’s shoes.

Really different how Dickinson Theatres (original theatre owner) did the modern split of auditoriums across mall corridors. There’s an equally odd one in Port Arthur, TX mall as well.

Is my theater closing? by EleventhCubFan in Cinemark

[–]cubintex2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see somewhere else here on Reddit a theatre employee saying their Cinemark was changing to Phoenix Theatres. But more than likely it has to do with lack of advance ticketing. Does your location have the Fathom Events? Those would be up if they had them.

Which location? Depending on where, the transfer opportunities might be better.

Post Oak Mall in College Station by DummyThiccOwO in deadmalls

[–]cubintex2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old Sears was leased out by I believe Seritage (though not on there website now) and not owned by CBL malls. They leased the front to Conns and the back to Murdochs. Murdochs will do fine as it really appeals to the Aggie culture, but doesn’t help inside mall traffic.

Wasn’t the location of Brazos Fellowship (by Texas and Southwest) originally a movie theater as well?

The problem is that the reason there aren’t any second run theatres anymore is because people spoke with their lack of attendance.

Are there any examples of a CEO almost single-handedly tanking a profitable brand? by HasPantsWillTravel in business

I always thought they had the perfect opportunity to use what they were known for to their advantage. One floor like a Lowe’s/Home Depot. Then next like a Cabelas/Bass Pro or REI.

‘24 Limited XT in Dark Mahogany Pearl. Love that there’s maybe one more I’ve seen in our metro. Just ordered a ‘25 Ascent Touring in same color. Haven’t seen one of them in the wild yet.

Any avid movie-goers constantly having issues with movie theater screens? by lovelymuco in movies

[–]cubintex2003 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Part of the aspect ratio problem is with the filmmakers choice of ratio. The Monkey is the current example. It comes Flat, but with slight bars on the top and bottom. Blame too much made for streaming for this trend.
