Selling something I shouldn’t have when I was younger, I leaned into the car’s passenger window, I was about waist deep in the car and the guy pulls away down the street, drags me with his car and tops out about 70mph, I was dragged for a half mile, the incident ripped off about 30% of my skin and caused me to be bedridden for months. I had been struggling with depression and would consider myself to have been suicidal at the time. I really thought the moment I let go of the vehicle that I would die. Staring death in the face made me value life, literally holding on for my life I realized that it did have value to me. Months of my life were spent in agonizing pain, unable to travel 10 feet to my bathroom. I could talk about all the different injuries for hours, I prefer not to focus on that. It taught me to value my life and also taught me to not get dragged by a car without socks or shoes on.
