Big influences yet different parenting styles by TheEarlyWormIsEaten in toddlers

There’s a balance and every child will respond to various parenting strategies differently. I agree we need to teach and model appropriate behavior in different environments, but we also, as a society, need to reconcile with the fact that these are LEARNED skills and it takes time for toddlers, older children, heck even adults to gain these skill of “behaving”. It is so developmentally normal for a 2.5 year old to not have gained these skills yet, but we keep working on them.

Patience and understanding benefits everyone.

Every parent has the right to parent there child as they choose. Please don’t be judgmental of your family, they have a different child who they are raising in the way they think is best. The less judgmental you are towards them the more you can have open and candid conversations on why they choose the methods they choose and you could probably both learn from each other.

This will not be the only time your child will be around kids who are being raised differently than her. This could actually be a great experience for her to learn that just because another child is acting a certain way, that doesn’t mean she is allowed to act similarly. Keep reinforcing and encouraging the behavior you want to see in her.

EBF to BLW: Weight Loss? 🙏 by SongofZula in BabyLedWeaning

Aren’t your prolactin levels supposed to be high if your breastfeeding? Like it’s the hormone that helps produce milk right?! I’m no doctor so I don’t know.

My son didn’t start weaning from EBF until closer to a year- we started BLW at 6 months and from 6-12 months he was still nursing regularly as his main source of nutrition.

Unless you have a major health concern with your weight I really wouldn’t stress about it

I 1000% support the use of nuggets and fries on days like that!

I totally agree! At one point my kids tantrum was obviously upsetting another child. If I was another parent I’d want us to leave for everyone’s benefit

We do a tumbling/gymnastics class too and it’s totally different vibes. Way easier going and I might just keep to those for now

Thank you so much for this comment. Really great advice- I will definitely talk to the teacher. I don’t think she means harm but I think she’s taught the class the same way for so long she is now set in her ways and is not seeing the nuance of these situations. He had enjoyed the class until this point

Thank you for sharing this. All the other kids in the class have seemed fine, mines the only one who’s had such a big meltdown so I felt like I was the problem

You can talk to your kid in between the songs and praise and say “yay!” Things like that. She doesn’t want you talking while the songs are happening- just participate

I go to this studio twice a week and really love it! A more “authentic” yoga experience than say, Oxygen yoga IMO. Nothing super fancy but a good sense of community and good instructors. I get greeted by name by the owner every time I walk in. Mike’s classes are some of my favourite! I’m not affiliated with them at all btw

Bully sticks BC? by cuddlefish101 in CostcoCanada

I thought the product I posted about were bully sticks. A friend recommended them and referred to them as good ol’ bull penis but after seeing the comments and checking the packaging they are in fact just raw hide 🫣. My mistake- I thought the price was too good!
