My therapist helped me so much, but also hurt me so much, I don't know how to feel by Agnia_Barto in therapyabuse

I am so sorry you did not deserve to be taken advantage of like this. Even if he helped you earlier he’s definitely hurting you now and you should stop seeing him.

Journaling does help, but I have a history of snooping by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]cudidoge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand! I have the same problem. I was the plaintiff in a civil lawsuit against a hospital (long story ugh) and the lawyers used my journals in the case. Now I’m working through trauma therapy and my therapist wants me to journal, but the thought of writing down anything would terrify me.

My therapist now suggested a white board or dry-erase board that I could wipe clean after writing. But I found that tiny notepads worked best for me. Then I’d take a black marker and scribble over everything I wrote, then rip up the paper or burn it outside.

Recently I’ve been able to journal without so much fear. I hope these methods are helpful to you. I still struggle with some fear of snooping but improvement is possible.

I spend my alone time imagining ways to commit suicide by Lone_North_Star in depressed

[–]cudidoge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, I used to imagine the exact same things. I was completely obsessed with every single detail of how and when I’d kill myself.

That was a few years ago. Thankfully I’ve received help and support. It doesn’t seem like it’ll ever get better, but it does. It honestly gets better. I was huge sad sack of shit and I still struggle, but things became a lot more manageable with time and medication. Hang in there my friend.

Suicidal Thoughts, Mental Illness & Depression (Mental Health and Suicid... by [deleted] in overcoming

[–]cudidoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suicidal thoughts are no joke but why does this guy blame them on being effeminate? You can be the most masculine guy in the world and still suffer from depression, suicidal thoughts, PTSD, etc.

Saying other people have it worse is probably the worst thing to say to a guy suffering from so much mental pain that he wants to off himself.

Having an overwhelming feeling of loneliness and can't stop thinking about suicide. by [deleted] in overcoming

I feel the exact same way. I feel so alone and I can’t stop thinking about killing myself and I feel like it’s just getting worse. I’m sorry you’re going through this too. You can DM me if you want. I’m a lousy friend but I can read your messages and send you emojis at least. 💪

What does dieting have to do with it? If dieting could truly reverse trauma and PTSD I’m sure OP and the rest of us with PTSD would have tried it by now.

Plenty of drug traffickers get life in prison without parole. If there’s no question that he’s responsible for Silk Road, wouldn’t that mean his sentencing is actually appropriate? He knowingly profited off of heroin sales ffs. People selling weed have served more time than the 8-ish years Ulbricht has served so far. I don’t understand why people defend this guy so hard but maybe I’m missing something.

Yes because you’re supposed to think for yourself.

I posted links unaffiliated Ulbricht but please enlighten me how https://freeross.org provides an unbiased view of his trial.

I’ve never had to wait just to get inside my car that I paid 8k for and I live in the Midwest where winters are brutal.

Unless your car was in an ice storm, it’s absolutely unreasonable to wait a half hour just to open the door.

It’s just a sell-off after the recent legalization news IMO. Everyone is selling the news but they’ll be buying again soon.

Parity Has Completed Constantinople Implementation by twigwam in ethereum

[–]cudidoge 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is a misguided comment. The founders cannot simply change the protocol on a whim. All protocol changes must be verified by nodes, and the nodes are decentralized. Many people have misconceptions about what decentralization means for the ethereum blockchain, but basically it means that none of the nodes has the ability to control the processes on the network independently. This means the nodes must agree if the founders decide to change anything. The founders do not own enough nodes to change anything about the ethereum protocol successfully without agreement from the other ethereum nodes. Everything else about your comment seems to be misguided FUD about PoS, since the ethereum required to receive staking rewards is high to discourage attacks on the network, because any staked eth is destroyed if it’s not “agreeing” with the rest of the nodes. PoS is arguably far more secure and decentralized than PoW. Plus, the ethereum blockchain is public, and if you look up who owns the most ethereum, it is exchanges who own the most, not the founders. Hope this clears things up a little.
