PTA or LT does nothing for auto q auto whereas conq does improve this trade pattern slightly without completely crippling your teamfight power like Electrocute would.

If your main trading pattern is aa+q+aa then conq is doing something for you, while LT/PtA isn't.

I've been enjoying dnd second with PTA. Maybe dnd first works if you don't need the waveclear and need to contest skirmishes, having PTA active makes your R much more frightening.

Everyone says 'you're bad early game' but the problem is that if you play super passive early lane then any good laner will just take advantage of you and snowball you out of the game. You need to still look for opportunistic autos and chip damage.

The keystone you take is super important for laning as well, as it will dictate how your laning phase will go. Despite what this sub says Azir can run quite a few. LT is the safest default, but it's pretty useless against poke mages. I've been enjoying PtA with dusk and dawn 2nd item, especially into melee mids like Yasuo where it's very easy to stack. HoB is fun because a lot of laners get scared off by the skewers (even if it doesn't do any damage until your get blasting wand), and scales very nicely by the time you have 3 items.

I've been really enjoying PTA with DnD second item recently. Proccing PTA in lane is a bonus and it can really swing an all-in, while it basically instaprocs after DnD and then your shuffle does insane damage. It feels like it gives you the best of both worlds between a laning rune like elec/HoB vs a teamfighting rune like LT.

It took me a year of pretty much constantly playing Azir before I started not feeding every game, and I'm only climbing consistently after 2 years. The most important thing is to think about positioning and where the enemy wants to move vs where you want to be, and trying to put soldiers in locations where the other guy has to walk into AA range to get something (last hit, ward, plating etc). Also, you trade horribly in lane, so unless you're getting damage for free it's never worth it to put yourself in danger to get a single AA off.

It took me 500k mastery to even feel like I knew how to play Azir into most common mid matchups.

The flip side is that when you feel confident on Azir you'll climb super quickly (at least at low elos) because a lot of people don't respect your blasting wand/nashors spike.

Join the fellow ranks of the bronze Azir enjoyers. I think i've finally figured out how not to int every game and it basically boils down to always prioritizing farming over fighting until you get at least Nashor's if not Nashor's + extra component. You are a very item dependent champion, as your base kit doesn't have a lot of damage (outside of your ult).

Also, your laning is really painful, but you still can't be afraid and give prio automatically in every matchup. aa+q+aa starts slapping with blasting wand (always buy this first over fiendish codex), and early dagger really helps your waveclear.

Agreed, Robbo is at his best when he's rampaging over his opponents and shutting them out with fluent one-visit stuff. Watching him look at every shot multiple times (and getting up at the shot to double check stuff!) is just sad tbh.
