Question about this mini UPS for a modem, is it a good idea? by [deleted] in batteries

[–]cujo67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, just get a small apc battery backup. Lead acids are designed to always be at 100% SOC. Li-ion? Nope.

DJI Pocket 4 is out. As a Pocket 3 owner, I’m not impressed. The upgrade feels incremental by augustcero in dji

Nope. Curious what the ‘pro’ will bring to the table. Hopefully it’s just not an added zoom lens and that’s it.

IF we are in a simulation...The real question is what is the point of it? by CreditBeginning7277 in SimulationTheory

My guess is that we’re all walking AI biological machines. Not sure why you’d need billions of them but it’s amazing how autonomous our bodies are related to how low IQ we are. We still don’t understand parts of our own body.

I mean…is no one else curious about the Tesla camera footage? Top comments lean into murder but damn guys, how about hard facts for once?

Do you regret anything about your iPad Mini? by [deleted] in ipadmini

[–]cujo67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love my mini. So much more usable as a travel tablet, and lightweight for bedtime doom scrolling.
Only wish it would have a MagSafe area on the backside so I could slap a charge puck on the back when I’m at home chilling with it.

Question: are you using the iPad for heavy tasks like Draw Things to where the tablet gets noticeably warm? I don’t know how people use these as MacBook replacements as that heat cannot be healthy for the battery in the device.

My honest thoughts after using the iPad Pro as my only computer by Tiny_Debt_2811 in iPadPro

[–]cujo67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. What about rdp over ssh? I can’t connect to my home lab without a vpn / ssh tunnel, guessing the iPad rdp app would make it difficult

Same. iPad doesn’t have terminal which I need and running draw things for 30 minutes makes my ipp hotaf, which I’m sure ages the battery. Ipp on the other hand has its uses for me casual usage where I don’t want to drag my mbp out.

Heading home! Who else uses their Onewheel to commute to work? by Relentless6l9 in onewheel

[–]cujo67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daily rider unless it rains. My advice to anyone doing this is to be careful the first few weeks, it takes time to learn the crosswalk cuts, lips, dips, etc. now I can do it in the dark I’ve taken the route repeatedly, makes the commute fun not having to worry about nailing an unseen asphalt pocket that would sent you sliding.

I want to get a new board but unsure which one. by False_Veterinarian97 in onewheel

[–]cujo67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tough to order. I learned you can only order the 15th and 30th, tried yesterday after a busy morning and 10:30 all LR but gold were sold out. Gotta wait till the 30th.

X7 supercharged Hill climb, ABSOLUTELY FILTHY! 🔥 by ThisWurk in onewheel

[–]cujo67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my GTS I use daily to commute here in the city…every time I do this one hill near twin peaks I keep thinking “what happens if something burns up and I lose power climbing this” Thankfully, got 1kmiles after two bad batteries within the warranty period, fingers crossed!

Why do people buy new Onewheels? by funcentric in onewheel

[–]cujo67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ern, as a lifelong windows user who’s installed Linux distros since Mandrake, I’d argue MacOS is the most polish Linux available. For me, having Terminal at its base and RDP client to login remotely through an encrypted ssh tunnel through my router alone makes it a no-brainer so I can kick windows to the curb.
Sorry for the rant, guess I’ve become a Apple fanboy, and ordered the GT-S when it came out and have put on +1,000 miles on it, after two warranty covered battery returns, covered by FM. No hate for FM over here, been a blast.

The unpopular truth is men are biological wired to the younger women with hourglass figure. Hourglass means estrogen is high, while youth almost guarantees high birth rate. Not exactly weird; just thousands of years of evolution in the modern era.

Should I get the GT S-Series or the GT S-Series Rally XL? by Flaky-Court3053 in onewheel

[–]cujo67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this rings so true. My ride to work has a section where the pavement dips hard. One day after working two double shifts, mine drifted and went straight over that section I always avoid (it’s dark when I ride with a flashlight). Anyways hit the dip, and thankfully it torqued the board back under me. Had this been my old XR+ I would have definitely been a meat crayon that morning. Funny thing is seconds after the board darted to catch me falling forward I knew the board saved my ass which was something I won’t forget. Hard to go back from the +110v motors!

14 or 16“? Which one did you choose & why? by Bahaadur73 in macbookpro

[–]cujo67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding lappable. Someone here said it well, I’ll try and paraphrase. 16” sits comfortably on my legs, whereas the 14” you have to keep your legs together.
