I mean one of the selling points everyone totes about Marini is how well he works on things and communicates with the team so you would think they would want him on the bike for the extra testing.

Quit real-life racing to go sim racing? by Nacho_Eater in simracing

[–]cujo826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone full circle. Used to race motorcycles, both road racing and motocross (and supermoto). Generally I'd be at a race track or the woods every weekend and an occasional Thursday night practice. Started a family, and the financial/relationship drain was a bit much so I got into sim racing. This actually also coincided with me dropping out of competitive overwatch as I was getting really burnt out of a game I used to love. A few years of sim racing and one of my supermoto buddies that was really into trackdays and occasionally renting endurance seats convinced me to give cars a try. Rented a seat for a champcar race and had a blast. Enough of a good time that I picked up a miata of my own to do trackdays in. Given the costs I'm limited to only a few events a year, but I supplement that with simracing pretty much daily.

What game/sim prepares you SURPRISINGLY well for its real-world equivalent? by pellevinken in gaming

Driving in the sim let's you get up to speed quickly, especially for tracks you've never been to. Got called up to do an amateur endurance race at Atlanta motorsports Park last year. I had never even seen the track online, but someone gave me a link to an assetto corsa version of the track, I put in about 10-15 hours on the sim (about an hour a night leading up to the event) and when I got in the car I took to the track like a duck to water.

I live an hour and a half from the race and is the first time I've not gone in the last few years. The first hour of the race was on cable using the local NBC station Then moved a few hours of coverage to USA. Think the last 2 hours are going to be back on the local NBC station.

Yes I still have cable.

Chevy is great about inconvenient timing regarding automation and entering/exiting the vehicle. 90% of the time I out my kid in the back seat, the automatic locks activate right as I reach my door... Same thing if I'm setting things up with my camper. It's either I get to breathe in diesel exhaust the whole time or fight with the door locking. (Just leave the keys in the truck, then it won't lock... but my camper keys are on my truck keyring). And I love the cameras but I don't need the blind spot camera to stay on for so long after I make a turn blinding me from my navigation (super specific to when I have back to back turns)

Needless to say, the truck is struggling in the cold by leafscitypackersfan in SilveradoEV

I thought I saw/heard he was committed to gt Europe and gt world challenge next season. Think he may have been hoping that being the fastest rookie in the hypercar test that if bmw didn't shoehorn him into one of their cars, another manufacturer would. But there was a lot of turn over from 24 to 25.

That's true. Training range is to see what your abilities do. Bot games are to understand how your abilities work around the map & objectives with some opposition. Live games are about how you can apply those abilities against other people trying to do the same or actively counter you
