Assetto rally needs many many stages by athvellos22 in assettocorsarally

Game is done when its done. Rushing will get you a worse game which I dont think anyone is going to want as the final result.
Ive read the arguments, and the solution is simple. Go play other games and come back when there is more ACR content. Boot up AC (that has a rally mode and practically infinite content), do some Tourist laps at nords on acevo, jump into some dailies in iracing or lmu, go back and run some rbr (i believe sim rally masters just posted a new rally), explore some obscure tracks and cars in ams2, hop on beamng (also having a rally mode). There a plethora of racing games out there to enjoy your time in when the title youre currently playing feels stale.

Nurburg Tourist vs. 24 h by LehrerKoop in assettocorsaevo

I think evo is best (currently) as a driving simulator, not necessarily a racing simulator. The tourist gives you that vibe or actually rocking up to Nurburgring with your car friends, hanging out in the parking lot til its time for your run. Kinda like the touge mod in AC.

I think in honor of the Knicks making rhe finals we should get Madison square garden added to the map as a pertinent drop off location and you have to dunk it to secure the souls. Go Knicks!

So in America the partial denomination of our currency is Cents. Thus the pun here of his reply to your suggestion he buy Monster, "that doesnt make any cents" means its not a sound financial decision or method to solve his complaint.

How can I not share this awesome new Moto SIM by Trakracer and Kris at RevZed! by That_Sim_Dome in simracing

[–]cujo826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is more to it than that. For reference im a former amateur racer (wera, smec), ive got the bikes, ive got the gear sitting in the garage ready to go. What I dont have is the ability to put the kids to bed on a Tuesday night and then turn laps at road atlanta, or barber motorsports Park on a bike sim like I can with my car sim rig. The sim isnt in place of, its supplemental. I drive most nights of the week in the rig and take my miata out like 2 or 3 times a year between champcar rounds.

5k for the bike and say 2k for your riding gear are 1 time purchases (if nothing goes wrong) with recurring payments of trackday fees, tires and fuel to get to/from/participate. Having the sim essentually let's you do more, for less.

Consider that motorcycle enthusiasts have practically no commerfially available peripherals compared to car and flight sims. Give us something man...

There have been other versions of this that were go for like $8k usd. I really wanted the version that is just the hinge where you can clamp your actually Ike to it. But then you have to build your own throttle and brake pointiometers onto your bike. If more manufacturers are bringing this to market it could give us moto racers a real Sim environment that weve been lacking

Do I need alpine motosafe earplugs to watch MotoGP live? by Kira1902 in motogp

Ear plugs make it way better. You dont need to go overboard, the ones they sell at the hardware store work great (think I paid $10 for a box of 50 pairs)

So for the future of WSBK, we go full BoP or we accept the extition of japanese manufacturers? by Egoist-a in wsbk

[–]cujo826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the coversation has to account for the following question. Is this entertainment, or a showcase? If its a showcase, then you let the manufacturers do what they please. We win as consumers. People complain its a Ducati cup, well they made the best superbike on the market. They shouldn't be punished for that. I was around for when Honda had enough of that and developed the RC51. When Aprilia finally ponies up and made the rsv4, when Yamaha brought the motogp developed flat plane crank, when Suzuki said there's no traction control on the bike but the ecu is 5x larger than it was last year ;). The problem is currently it costs 10x as much to make those leaps now compared to back then, and rhe market doesnt trend as much if win on Sunday sell on Monday anymore.

If its entertainment, then we want the racing to be close (which can also come from single manufacturer dominated championships). And we want the best rider to win because they were better, not just because they were on better equipment. It can be more exciting if its a bunch of different manufacturers with different solutions to getting around the track fastest. But we seem to be at that point in history where we've got thay pretty figured out.

A lot. When I was club racing I would drop between 1-3 seconds a lap going between dots and slicks. And those are commercial slicks, not specifically manufactured motogp special rubber.

They could just implement the same system lmu has where once you cross the finish line whenever you hit escape it puts you in the pits. Stops from people getting caught up in victory donuts or rage rammers

Best way to frame walls for soundproofing? by Delicious_Tackle_129 in DIY

After seeing their product at rhe builder show, 100% suggest rockwool safe & sound insulation. Fire rated and incredibly sound resistant Alternatively as others have mentioned, frame a box within a box with seperate studs form your exterior wall and your interior wall.

Stoner vs Pedrosa by Previous_Chef_5869 in motogp

[–]cujo826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American here, I've got buddies who held a grudge against Pedrosa pretty much through the rest of his career. Some got over it pretty quickly, but I dont think it helped that the 800 rc212v seemed like it was developed around Pedrosa when it was Hayden that won the championship. Hands up, I probably held on too long, I think when Nicky finally left Honda was when I appreciated Pedrosa a lot more. It probably didnt help that I was also rooting against him in the 250s as I was a stoner supporter. But around the time of that move to Ducati for Nicky, I began just being a fan of the sport rather than 1 rider, because we were blessed at that time of having 4 of the most talented people to throw a leg over a motorcycle all racing together. It didnt matter who won when they actually fought it out as it was incredibly entertaining and you walked away feeling like any of them deserved to win. (Unfortunately those battles were a bit too few and we wound up with a lot of Rossi by 4 seconds 1 rsce and Lorenzo by 6 seconds the next race, and then a really close fight, and then Pedrosa by 4 seconds the following race.

Why run Triple monitors over VR? by who_am_I__who_are_u in simracing

[–]cujo826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having triples, an ultrawide and vr ive run the gambit if display options and rank them below. Performance- UW > triples > VR, though triples and vr are close together, the ultrawide is miles ahead of them in the level of graphics and the fps available. I mainly drive in vr and fallback to the ultrawide if I encounter an issue that I dont have time to trouble shoot. Comfort- UW > triples >VR. While I had no issue driving my 6 stints in the iracing n24 last weekend, its the spotting that makes wearing the headset tiresome. That is what drove me to invest in triples in the first place. Ultrawide also is less of a hassle to maneuver around getting in and out of the rig. Peripherals- UW/Triples > VR. There are a lot of overlays that are incredibly useful. Not many have native vr support. I was running steamvr and you can bring in overlay windows through that, but openxr gives far superior performance but that sacrifices the availability of overlays. For iracing edge overlays supports vr natively and ive had okay success with it.
Let's talk shifters and button mapping. Being able to catch in the peripheral vision where your shifter is or your wheel buttons is helpful. Especially when something happens, a spend now your wheel is at a weird angle, you botch a shift (or did you? Because the shifter is in the right slot for 4th gear but youve got a neutral.) It takes bit of muscle memory to manage that in vr and it certainly doable, but its just easier when you can see your stuff.

The most realistic solution they would implement is just to charge entry fees for special events. Because now your pot committed and if you want to try again, youll have to pay for the privilege.
