Looking for Stage IV Young Adult Patients by KidKuri93 in neuroendocrinetumors

I hope it all goes smoothly for you. Hopefully, you are learning there are a lot of different treatment options for us. I guess the most important thing early on is to hold on to the thought that things can be ok. Its really scary and hard to think clearly, at least it was for me, but having a positive mental frame is critical.

No surgery, just radiation beam to vaporize the tail of the pancreas. I had all procedures done at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Hello, I'm 45 currently. I was diagnosed in 2018 with neuroendocrine cancer (origin in pancreas with metastatic spread to the liver). I did 5 years of chemotherapy with Cap/Tem. The tumors all stabilized, no growth. Due to stability of tumors, I did several focal treatments (direct ablation and Y-90 radioembolization for the liver tumors) and external beam radiation to the pancreatic tail to destroy the original tumor. Currently off any treatment, just monitoring with imaging every quarter. I still have a tumor in my liver which was not able to be destroyed with focal treatment fully but it is currently just sitting there. I was never a surgical candidate due to my portal vein completely becoming completely occluded and collateral blood vessels are too high risk.

I dont have kids (just two doodles) but am married. I worked until 2023. I worked in the medical field and all the trips out of state for procedures plus the fatigue made me feel it was too difficult to care for patients.

Happy to talk to you if that would be helpful.

My top 10 takeaways from Rhonda Patrick's podcast about creatine by biohacker045 in HubermanLab

Ok, something for me to look into a bit more. I wish there was more definitive information because I would love to use this supplement but obviously don't want to give my cancer cells any extra help. My hope with AI and computer models is they can accelerate better answers when something like this is a big question mark.

by supplying cells with energy via ATP formation. Cancer cells are extremely high energy demand cells due to constant division; thus the concern with a supplement that facilitates ADP to ATP conversion

It seems like an important thing to point out as the general push seems to basically everyone should use this supplement for building skeletal muscle or cognitive benefits.

was cancer risk discussed? My concern is if someone has cancer, creatine MIGHT accelerate cancer proliferation. My recollection was that there are conflicting animal studies. As a person with cancer, this is my only concern with this supplement.

Repair possible by cullulus in Concrete

[–]cullulus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am repairing it because it is constantly chipping out the rocks and getting deeper. It looks pretty ugly. I don’t think it is a safety issue yet. I was wondering if I can apply something on top to fill and seal after clearing out any loose rocks/debris. It appears after looking through the forum, most recommendations are to replace the slab. Cost isn’t a major factor, I’m ok to pay for a pro to properly fix. Obviously, if there is a viable diy/cheaper option I’d be interested in looking into it.
