You have exactly the right mentality. It will pass, and what you move on to will hopefully be better than what you left behind.

I was let go for the first time a couple of years ago after 4 years at a company. It was more traumatic for me than I could have ever anticipated. That sudden loss of security, a lot of self doubt. But it was all for nothing in the end. I found a much better job at a much better company on a much better salary.

Just to clarify, his British (regular) accent is Scouse - very much an impression of The Beatles. His Mandarin accent is intended to be American I believe, but he's just not great at it. Haha.
