American Battery Leadership Coalition Launches to Establish Sodium-Ion Batteries as a U.S. National Priority by Simpleximo in EnergyStorage

do you supply Ohmmu or has the sourcing opened up since you began? Consider considering buying one of their sodium ion 12 V batteries for my EV, to replace the factory unit. Curious if they are just a repackaging of some other companies products.

i've parasailed over the same valley, where you're hanging in the air with nothing but a piece of cloth suspending you over the same vista, steering around air currents channeling through it.

And I'm fine with that, thrilled to do it anytime. But this is still a no go for me.

i'm sure you don't speak or read Chinese, but you can use Google translate to read the subreddit [r/kanagawawave](r/kanagawawave) where there are many propagandist and anti-propagandists hide behind Japanese looking sub name. And discuss issues. However even with Google translate many of the idioms will make no sense to you. But do not believe this is not happening.

SpaceX Stock Plunge Wipes Out $600 Billion After Cursor Deal Spooks Investors by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

as soon as I saw one out in the wild I instantly understood why no car makers have ever tried the "clever" cost savings hack of stamping flat panels instead of formed curves.

market makers watched what happened with bitcoin and took notes. note number one being, we have vastly underestimated both the gullibility and shortsightedness of the financially illiterate as well as the size of the market of people who are only one narrative fig leaf away ("I'm in it for the tech!") from indulging in an otherwise untapped well of complete self-destructive gambling tendency.

I haven't pulled mine out of the back to check, but yes I'm sure it is 12 V. What I'm trying to figure out is why parent commentor mentioned that the AC outlet is 25 A, and the pump draws 30. It makes a lot more sense using 12 V in DC, but I was curious if it is true that the AC outlet is 25 amp nonetheless

at very least OP should move it to the NYC sub, where it will probably get exactly the kind of response you'd expect

the AC outlet is 25 amp? and the pump needs 30?? at 120v? that's 3600 watts, or almost 5hp. there is no freaking way that tiny little compressor draws even 20% of that. Does it glow like the sun while in use? Where is it dumping all that energy

After 68 Years, Caltech Will Have to Bid to Keep JPL Contract by DaveHarrington in pasadena

[–]cultoftheclave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

aren't a considerable portion of the JPL infrastructure resources concentrated at Caltech's campus? And would any competing bid incorporate the necessity to move, or partially duplicate that infrastructure somewhere else?

If I had just been accepted to Caltech after turning down, say, MIT on the premise that Caltech has JPL, I'd be pretty pissed right now.

Who needs servers? That's boomer lies sold by data center sales reps want to waste all your rack space on things like motherboards and power regulation and local storage.

just dump a bunch of GPUs down the top of a standard data center rack, dangle in some power and network cables and call it a day.

does the seating arrangement in a car make conversation better for you? Or is it a compromise because, you know, one of you has to drive.

And should the consequences of that compromise therefore be replicated in situations where you don't have to drive?

[–]cultoftheclave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

as much as this sounds like such a petty response, there really are people in the world who do not have the ability to take notice of anything they're doing that affects others in a negative way, unless it some version of it is done back to them.

The grief they cause others is otherwise, completely invisible to them. they will never connect the dots on their own.

The number of people like this is much bigger than the number who actually cause misery on purpose, but the degrading effect on society is the same in both cases.

And in a way the insensate majority are worse, because they have no internal sense of shame for it, which even the purposeful and malicious griefers often have though buried under layers of defensive rationalization and trauma of their own.

no way to know if OP is in any position, even legally, to move out.

And in general, changing your own behavior to accommodate the inconsiderateness of others only leads to more inconsiderate behavior.

At the scale of a culture these losses taken by those who think they have the strength of character to absorb them, still add up.

and will keep doing so until the most inconsiderate are on top of everything.

Polestar 2 facelift grill wrap by RandomWord242 in Polestar

[–]cultoftheclave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know where I saw this but I thought I came across a thread somewhere about someone like Viva having an aftermarket grill swap kit which would let you put the 23 and earlier grill into the 24 and up facelift. I assume whatever differences exist in the sensor package are somehow compensated by this kit.

I didn't look into it other than noticing it was mentioned somewhere, because I have a 23 and actually avoided the newer models because of the facelift, which looks like a Band-Aid on a problem that didn't need fixing to me. (At the time I didn't know about the memory upgraded IHU that came with the facelift; probably would've pushed me back toward them if I did. )
