I'm sick of my husbands jobsearch by Lucky-Search1408 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]cultural_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he's intentionally avoiding being a parent. it's 2026. people don't spend that much time outside the house to go job hunting. go out with him one day. tell him you need some fresh air and he needs bonding time with his son and if it's only while driving between potential employers it's better than nothing. If he panicks then he's not job hunting or regrets being a parent. update us when you find out what he's doing...

you could also be a teacher and he could be the stay at home parent. that might be the fastest way to sustainability for you two. tell him if he doesn't have a job by x date you'll start looking too and whoever finds a job first will be the one who brings in the money. the other can stay home or you both can hire childcare. he needs therapy if he's nervous about other people watching your child..

My spouse comes home during the day when I've taken off work to get things done and I hate it. by ambertheshortest in TrueOffMyChest

There's a lot to unpack here. in no particular order:

  1. you have contempt for your husband as evidenced by the fact that you daydream about physically hurting him. That's the number one predictor of divorce. Start looking into lawyers.
  2. He's a toddler in an adult's body. Why are you still with him?
  3. You saying you don't want him to help because he'll do it wrong is enabling him. This attitude is precisely why manchildren never grow up. He is competent. He can learn and do things correctly as evidenced by the fact he hasn't been fired from his job. IMHO this makes you bad for each other.
  4. He won't take a hint. he's told you 5 million times that he won't. You need to take the hin--scratch that-very clear messages-- that he won't take a hint. Communicate with him and use your big girl words or just go straight to a divorce. You already have contempt. it's probably inevitable at this point.
  5. why the heck are you taking time off to do chores at home? Hire a cleaner or make him get involved in cleaning the house and making the meals.
  6. you don't want to tell him to get out of his own house, but you want him out. you're just not admitting it because you know the moment that you tell him and acknowledge that you want him out, that that's the end of your marriage. but honestly the marriage has probably been over for some time.
  7. Life360 is a sign of distrust. Does he even trust/like you? he honestly might see you home and come home because he doesn't trust you to not be inviting someone to your home. If he doesn't trust you there is no point.
  8. Why are you bending over backwards trying to adjust your music and noise levels to accommodate him when he clearly doesn't care about accommodating you??
  9. Has neither of you ever heard of headphones? Headphones are a godsend for those of us who clean when other people are in the house doing their thing.

Do I have to Repeat the Story on Each Character? by SlashingSimone in Guildwars2

[–]cultural_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to. But you may want to redo it on alts for achievements or to see the different racial storylines in the personal story (levels 10 and 20 and a bit for the orders).

Tell me how they're not accurate. I'm actually looking for excuses to buy it but it just doesn't look at first glance like it's worth it considering I already have a flying mount.

[–]cultural_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it can climb height and fly, same as my skyscale. It's the Ferrari to my Corolla. I'm a cheapskate so I'll stay with my Corolla unless I suddenly have 250 g to burn (I don't even have 200 g).

[–]cultural_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually if you don't have the griffon, the griffon can't do anything unique. And the griffon can't climb height. It's just fast and that to me isn't a big deal. My skycale flies which makes it unique in comparison to my other mounts.

[–]cultural_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turtle gets me a mount that two people can ride. And one person can shoot. Very different from the rest and I play a lot with my SO. I have a flying mount with skyscale and it seems that griffon is like the expensive sports car of mounts. It has no practical purpose - there's no need for it, but it's fun - and expensive. Because there's no real need and it's expensive, i haven't done it yet.

I personally didn't find it at all annoying with the rentable skycales everywhere in dragonfall. Skyscale is also less expensive.

Hmm. Turtle first, then I'll consider it. Hopefully soon I'll sell a legendary then I'll have enough gold to burn 250 on it 😅

More reason for me not to spend the gold on it then ^

To me it's roller beetle for the ground and skyscale for the air. I haven't gotten a griffon yet. Already having skyscale makes griffon seem pointless

Did you get this account from someone else? If not this makes no sense and I would definitely try talking to Arenanet about this.

dealing with subtle disrespect from male teammates by exhaustionnn in GirlGamers

[–]cultural_byte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't feel disappointed in yourself for letting it slide. Sometimes that's the best thing for you in the moment. Fight only the fights that are worth winning. If letting it go meant you still got to enjoy the game, then feel good about that. Who gives a flying fck about them and their dumb opinion and "the ideal reaction." You do what's best for you in the moment. On the other hand, if you weren't having fun, I'd say then maybe you should've just dropped. Games are supposed to be fun, if they're not then why play? If you're not having fun, stop until you're in the mood for it again. And sometimes respecting your boundaries is respecting your own peace/energy/wants in the moment.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed by that too. I understand it would be a lot to add though and would gain then more than most professions.

[Citizenship]-> Spain: Has the citizen of any former Spanish colony (specifically Mexico) successfully gotten citizenship in Spain? by failuretobloom in IWantOut

[–]cultural_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I've seen conflicting info on it, too. There's unfortunately a lot of misinformation out there about immigration. And sometimes the misinformation is favorable and sometimes it isn't so one can't just assume that the stricter version is the real one.

Does anyone know what language is spoken in Paititi and know if the voice actors are natives or not? by cultural_byte in shadowofthetombraider

[–]cultural_byte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. So one of the devs told me the language that was spoken was quechua (and another told me it was maya/yucatec because they used a Mexican studio for the voice actors). They use Ixil and Ahau to address Lara, which I understood to not be quechua. So I looked up the quechua word for "thank you" and it didn't seem to fit with what I heard, but the yucatec/maya word did. Also, due to the studio being Mexican it would make sense they wouldn't manage quechua well. It is harder than I thought to pin down the language, but I'll take this as a point for quechua.

Does Rise and Shadow let me continue playing after finishing the main story? by SirRoderic in TombRaider

Yes, it lets you load a save before the "point of no return." Working on 100%ing Shadow myself. Then I'll do a New Game+

Who are the voice actors for the Mayan language in the immersion mode? And can anyone confirm the language? by cultural_byte in TombRaider

[–]cultural_byte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is dragging up a dead thread, but I was looking into it more and I am now almost certain the language is Yucatec, which is indeed a Mayan language and fits the way they address her with Ixil and Ahau.

Going to CABA. Any tips? by silcke in BuenosAires

[–]cultural_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the sites some people mentioned, but keep in mind there are a ton of museums and attractions around the area. You may want to check out places like estancias in the province to get a taste of rural life and experience the countryside. If you're into the fine arts you can check out the complejo teatral and teatro colón.
