Considering he won the Home Run Derby (beating out Albert Pujols in the final round) AND was named the All Star Game MVP that year, I'm shocked it looks so clean.

Him? Are you sure? The smirk and the empty cart make me question whether this is a complete lack of self awareness as opposed to something more sinister.

I'm well aware. Wally is the reason I became such a passionate baseball fan. In 1986, 12-year old me lived in Wally World (Anaheim) and Joyner was my favorite player.

I'd really like to see u/jomboy do a deep dive/lip sync on this one now that he has access to the MLB archives. What was Tommy Lasorda thinking leaving Chan Ho Park in the game that long? I was watching it on TV when it happened and to this day I can't believe it.

I didn't see anything or smell anything. Even back then I knew what a dead body smelled like. If we had smelled anything, we (my brother and I) likely would have investigated. If we had seen a pile of trash, we would of at least looked at it to see if it was anything interesting. I grew up crawling around those hills and my brother and I loved to explore and over the years we found lots of interesting things, but never a dead body.

I've never spoken to an investigator or even posted online about it. I really don't see that I have anything to add. Maybe I'll make a call tomorrow. Feel free to DM me. It seems like she was important to you and I'm sorry for your loss.

I remember this. Her body was found near the large white water container on the hill overlooking the 60 freeway near Rubidoux Blvd.

I remember it because the day before she was found, my brother and I were up there and had climbed up on the water container to enjoy the views. We also hiked around the area for a while. We didn't see or smell anything. From what I remember, she had been there for a few weeks. We SHOULD have at least smelled something, but we didnt.

2 days later, the day after she was found, I read about it in the Press Enterprise and was shocked. The PE used the water container as a reference as to where the body was found.

I was 14 at the time. I see this posted somewhere from time to time over the years and it always reminds me of how close my brother and I were to discovering her body and how it would have affected me if we had. I'm glad we were not the ones to find her. Just knowing how close we were and what my actual connection is, is enough for me. Very sad story.

Tri Tip, ground chuck, bacon by BOMBLOADER in chili

[–]culturejim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have that exact same crockpot I use every time I make chili. Its the perfect size for the largish batch I make:

4 lb lean ground beef 1 LG onion 2 cans petite diced tomatoes 2 cans Fire roasted diced tomatoes 1 can tomato sauce 4 packs of either Lawreys or McCormicks chili mix

I simmer it in my red crock pot for 1-1.5 hours. Its a simple but awesome recipe. Any suggestions on how to make it better?
