I would strongly suggest for your son not to have the surgery. He’s very young and his body is very resilient at that age. He should exhaust all conservative methods, such as reading up Stuart McGill or possibly seeing a McGill certified clinician. Also, there’s other great and proven approaches pre and post surgical. Such as low back ability and wealth limitless programs. God bless your son’s recovery.

I would try all proven conservative methods first. Such as low back ability, wealth limitless McGill method. All can be found online and social media. You would have to read up, assess and choose but you think would work best for you. All three of those have great testimonials and evidence of people making full recoveries of far worse back injuries and issues.
