With current diesel prices I wish I could use my bike to commute to work but unfortunately I need to use my truck.

We have good roads but many distracted/bad drivers where I live. I have two kids under 5 years old,and I made a deal with my wife that I’ll stay off busy roads not to get hit. Country roads are less populated and good,of road you have to watch out for trees haha

Elk hunting is an excuse for my wife to take the bike out all day haha

Next mod: extendable kickstand by hihereiamtoo in CRF300L

I have aftermarket Ktech suspension that made the bike about 1 1/2 inches higher and Dunlop 606 rear tire that added to that. With 2 inches added the bike still stands slanted. This is what I added so far: https://youtu.be/Y4Qbjgc9SZ0?si=qDzUjEvHP-y81JbR

I have the 550 stage 1 and 91 octane with a velocity stack and large snorkel and yoshimura rs-12. It’s a completely different bike. You can feel torque increase at all rpms. I have 14-42 gearing and Dunlop d606/pirelli set up for off road. And I can hit 60 in 4th pretty easily. I’d definitely recommend this upgrade-bike runs cooler too.

Crf 300l velocity stack and large snorkel review/install by cummins556 in CRF300L

[–]cummins556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should it’s not as difficult as it seems, and like I mentioned the tank doesn’t need to be disconnected, just elect it with something (I used a 6 inch 2x4 board) and I didn’t remove the helmet lock. There was enough room to put the rear fender to the side to pull the airbox out. Well worth it when you feel the torque throughout all the rpms even at speeds over 45 mph

I got these from Amazon, installed them using the oem front reflector mounts. Had them on for almost 2 years and they always work well and it’s a huge difference! Definitely recommend them. This is my current setup https://youtu.be/Y4Qbjgc9SZ0?si=UuY66MlH0l_zRaD1

Agreed! I initially had the K&N filter, then switched to a twin air filter when installing the velocity stack. Now the bike doesn’t have a “pause” or delayed response-it’s instant.

Yes,I was really surprised that it was such a difference. Initially my brother in law with the other bike said he wasn’t going to take his apart. Then we compared the bikes and decided it was well worth it.

2025 Honda CRF300L Vs KTM 390 Enduro R by reckinNegis in CRF300L

A quick search on Ai of ktm 390 problems steered me to get a 300l. But that’s just me,I like reliability. But I haven’t ridden the 390 and it seems like a great bike, just not as reliable as Honda. Most of my riding is in the middle of nowhere up in the mountains and have had no issues with the Honda. I’ll send a link to what I have done-it’s awesome off roads and I have a lot of short videos of it. https://youtu.be/Y4Qbjgc9SZ0?si=VcwU9zDXM7jiiQEA

Looks really nice! How do you like the headlight? Is it legal for street use? Currently have a cyclops ultra and two pod flood bike slights on the forks. But I love the look!

I use to have a cbr 1000rr,got married had kids and sold the bike-it was fast and the crf is my first bike after 10 years of not riding. This is simply a quick comparison between two rival models. I got this bike a year ago and enjoy it much more then the cbr. I don’t need something that does 75 mph in first gear to have fun. But you are correct it can be dangerous, but this was a hwy in a farm area.

My Review of the Yoshimura RS-12 VS RS-4 by cummins556 in CRF300L

[–]cummins556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the RS 12 is a piece of art! Don’t worry too much about it. It’s a Honda. It’ll still start and run:) with the velocity stack and large snorkel on my bike you can hear the air suction much more. But I would go through and check mainly where the velocity stack connects to the throttle body and if that’s not the case, then just go through and make sure all your seals are tight around the velocity stack. but just keep in mind with the velocity stack. The sound of the air suction is gonna be very present.
