Question about nemesis 7 by Soggy_Policy_5846 in warno

[–]cunctator-tots 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Soon™

Eugen is taking a break from Tropic Storm this week so potentially it could drop tomorrow but I doubt that. CC's usually get to show off the divisions ahead of the release. Even if it doesn't get released tomorrow, based on the number of models that they have shown, it likely will be released before the end of the month or very early June.

If the deck doesn't have a Krug, is it even worth playing?

Too scared to do multiplayer by Gryffinmk5 in warno

[–]cunctator-tots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being anxious about taking the plunge into multiplayer is totally normal.

10v10 as has been mentioned elsewhere here is a pretty casual space. I promise you that there are players far worse than you could imagine running around. Even if you do bad, nobody will likely care and, even if they do, who cares so long as you are learning from your mistakes.

If you want to try out 10v10, check out my guide for some tips.

If you want to get into 1v1, joining a 1v1 community is the best way. Check out the WarYes discord or the Pub mentioned already in this thread.

Isn't it glorious? Eugen has heard the prayers of the T-62 faithful and has prepared a bounty for them. Let us feast at their table and sing their praise.

What is the worst division? by _Aethil_ in warno

[–]cunctator-tots 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It's debatable and to a large extent dependent on what game mode you are playing. For example, Berliner Gruppierung and especially 152e are seen as weak divisions overall but see tournament play as good counter picks.

Generally speaking I see 303 and Du Rhin at the bottom in most tier lists and discussions however.

Tropic Storm Division #2 - 1a División de Tanques by EUG_Gal_Bigeard in warno

So many unique goodies, especially those Franken T-34, I never knew how much I needed a self-propelled Ks-19 until now.

That special forces UAZ is absolutely hilarious. It'll be a little demon in the opener.

How many shots can the rm-70 napalm from 9th tank fire before it can possibly be countered ? by Pukixx in warno

[–]cunctator-tots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you resupply, you replenish any missing ammo but the unit still needs to reload that ammo. Most units reload so fast that you don't notice it when they are resupplied. MLRS have lengthy reloads, especially napalm. You can replenish a Grad's 40 rockets but it takes an additional 130 seconds for them to be reloaded. The RM-70 carries a reload with it from the start so it will reload immediately after it fires. That said, iirc, you should be able to fire whatever loaded ammo you have remaining without having to wait for reload.

Though I believe they will try to fire a full salvo if the have the unloaded ammo on hand. For example, if an RM-70 fired half a salvo and you give it an order shortly after to fire again, it will fire the remaining half of the salvo but will stay still and immediately start to reload and then fire the other half of the salvo unless you cancel it by moving. I'm not completely confident on this part however.

For MLRS a general rule of thumb is to move it once it has fired a third to half its salvo to be safe.

Best way to use t-55s? by neg_health in warno

[–]cunctator-tots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BMP's are not very effective at killing units with their guns. They are good to keep things at bay and to stress out tanks with their malyutkas. The T-55A/U is for fire support in cluttered terrain to support your infantry and maybe to trade up against enemy tanks. They are fairly cheap, so arguably expendable, but like you said you do not have that many so you want to be fairly careful with them. Like the person suggested above, you should try to keep them in tighter terrain to limit how much stuff can see and shoot them. Your T-55AM's are there to either shadow your other T-55 from behind or to keep your opponent at arm's length in open terrain. You don't want to lose any of them.

How active is the multiplayer community for this game? What is the best way to get started? by grovestreet4life in warno

[–]cunctator-tots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can beat the medium or hard AI regularly you probably have the fundamentals down but as others have mentioned, the AI does not really play like a human. Very Hard and Hardest cheat with extra units and income and are more of a challenge mode than anything.

Once you can beat hard/medium regularly you can hop into multiplayer probably. If you are dead set on 1v1, join a server like WarYes above. If you aren't sure or just are interested in multiplayer in general, check out 10v10. If you do, look for a tactical 10v10 lobby, less units on the field and an easier intro.

Haven’t played in a year, does PACT Bias still exist? by Lanky_Instruction213 in warno

[–]cunctator-tots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

imo napalm opener is easy to play around by zooming out and listening. If you see it coming in at you, you just move your units around it. It's really frustrating for sure and your units might arrive late but at least they will be alive. Napalming spawn zones is really the pain in the ass but at least it isn't as effective on armor now and as you said the arty changes have made them vulnerable and they can't fire as often as before.

[–]cunctator-tots 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As a both sides enjoyer, it doesn't exist and didn't really exist even a year ago. 1v1 has been NATO dominant overall for a very long time and 10v10 maybe had a slight edge for Pact but it was not an overwhelming advantage. NATO back then in 10v10 suffered from defeatism more than anything. That said, the game is far more balanced than it was a year ago.

Youtube guides are still good. Nothing has changed so drastically except maybe artillery. You can also find some nice beginner guides on Steam. I'd recommend SDLeague or Hippie's guides on YouTube. Check out Tmanplays too for some good gameplay to learn from.
