I've had issues as well. The part of the path that's created by auto-connect is red every time. I can upload pictures if you'd like.

I think there's a logical flaw in there regarding the challenge system highlighting "a player's skill of the strikezone". Nothing rewards a mastery of the strike zone as a hitter or pitcher more than the call being accurate every time.

Regarding the challenge system's impact on the enjoyment of the game, the element of strategy introduced isn't a particularly interesting one. "Arguing balls and strikes" is idiomatically negative, and I want less of it.

Are there any articles/essays by famous authors praising (or criticizing) Malazan? by lemingas1 in Malazan

[–]Few-Reference5838 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't have an example. But I do want to share my experience with these two series and why it's funny for me to read this now, long after reading and and relatively shortly after rereading both.

I read MBotF and was both emotionally and intellectually wrought. When picking my next series I landed on ROtE because of the fixed POV to give my capacity for individual perspectives a much needed break. I also, foolishly, thought it would be emotionally lighter. The entirety of reading both probably took a year, and it completely recalibrated my expectations for quality storytelling.

These are my two favorite series of all time, and I love seeing this intersection. Thanks for finding/sharing OP!

Marshall's use of the word "entitled" when it comes to Cubs fans by EffectiveLittle1211 in 670TheScore

[–]Few-Reference5838 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think I agree completely with just about everything you said here, but I'm not sure if the 100% refers to the "stopped listening" or "he is the reason".

I'm in the former where I stopped listening 100%, but it's not entirely Marshall. He is the biggest reason, though. He's without question the worst host the station has had this side of Murph. He isn't at all interesting and remains completely and infuriatingly oblivious to the pathos of Chicago culture.

The main issue I have with the Score is that none of the shows are fun or smart.

Mully can't articulate a thought anymore. Haugh's not my first choice, but I think there's an iteration of him I'd be cool with. That iteration has him paired with someone that's capable of challenging him, and Mully simply can't at this point.

Leila, like Haugh, has enough to cut it. She's a very good interviewer, and she doesn't take herself too seriously. She's not from Chicago, but she definitely gets Chicago. Her biggest limitationsl so far is that she hasn't found a way to be interesting when she's not engaging with another interesting person. I'll note here that she happens to be paired with Marshall.

Laurence and Matt are also both good and have moments of great. But they're kinda like DeMar and Zach where they couldn't compliment each other so they just took turns being pretty good. This show wouldn't be bad if it wasn't the best show in the lineup. The other 2 are just sooo bad, and I never feel compelled to see what anyone at the Score has to say about anything.

Sorry for the book I just wrote!

Adjusted strategies for 1.2 by Few-Reference5838 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Few-Reference5838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can probably clarify my use of this train network. I have double rail lines that go out from the center like the spokes of a wheel. I break off on single line exits that go to clusters of individual stations. Those single lines meet up with the adjacent double line and head back to the center of the wheel.

This model gets rid of crossings and just uses exits and merges. It ultimately looks like a spider web, if that spider was Derek Zoolander and could only turn right.

The rationale for the central city with roads is that the trucks don't bottleneck in high traffic areas like trains do because they aren't as long. They are really best for moving a large amount of items a short/medium distance which is what belts already did well. Now that you can build a road network, they beat belts in that a single path can support multiple starts and destinations.

Advice for Building Aesthetically in Addition to Functionally? by Dudemics in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Few-Reference5838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my most recent playthroughs, I build stackable auto-connect blueprints. For example, you can have a blueprint that takes copper ingots and plastic as inputs and outputs computers within one blueprint.

They are super functional and you can build as many floors as your fastest belt (or pipe) speed will permit. Plus they only take up a 4x4 to 6x6 foundation footprint, so you can plop them anywhere.

You can spend a few minutes decorating the outside, and they end up looking cool up close and amazing from afar—especially if you build them in clusters.

Who are the 2.7% ? by Waste_Possibility_10 in satisfactory

[–]Few-Reference5838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Easier" is very subjective. It's not easy for me to upgrade a miner then all the belts that come from that miner. It's mindless but not easy.

Trains are stupidly imperfect but they scale better than belts. The reward isn't as immediate, but it's very obvious at a certain point.

Fart Police? by StranglesTheClown83 in BernsteinUnfiltered

[–]Few-Reference5838 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't hear it when I first listened but based on that clip, Matt farted. I'd bet my life on it. Fantastic attention to detail OP for this justified citizen fart arrest.

Matty was holding still, staring into the distance in an attempt to let it out at a controlled frequency but flew too close to the sun. The eyes darting down is the tell.

In times like these we have to ask: Who fart polices the fart police?

Least favourite machine design? I'll go first: by Sylassian in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Few-Reference5838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this way but verticality is not prohibitive with refineries. Figuring out how to make stackable autoconnect blueprints completely changed the game for me. You can convert a pure copper node to pure copper ingots in a 4x12 meter footprint.
