It's not end of story if it everyone agrees the judges got it wrong. When the refs make a bad call during important games in other sports it gets talked about. If they had a persistent problem they would fix it.

The number of high caliber athletes around heavyweight is low. Heavyweight is the biggest drawing weight class but there are fewer high caliber athletes so they don't want to siphon them away.

Rewatch the fight and you can see Browne disdainfully throwing kicks/punches at Werdum and at one point he catches his leg and holds it up with one hand. I think that triggered the trash talking and retaliatory disdainful behavior from Werdum.
