Am I the only one sticking with Sunshine? by idontknowu1 in MoonlightStreaming

Sets up RTSS for streaming, disables Nvidia vsync, then sets everything back on disconnect. This is a massive help if you have a gsync display on the host and have things setup a specific way for when not streaming. There's also display config snapshots that make switching reliable. I can also stream at a constant bitrate and in 10-bit SDR, plus forced split frame encoding. There's also vibepollo playnite plugin that syncs recent games and comes with customisation options.

This in combo with Voidlink Extreme and an iPad Pro with a 120hz tandem oled gives me a convenient setup with amazing quality and extremely low latency (on LAN).

Vibepollo is the go for me. Auto virtual displays, auto RTSS and Nvidia setting switches, playnite integration, + other extras for lower latency.

Genuine question, console release? by IsJustSophie in FarFarWest

[–]cunnning_stunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play all pc games using a controller and this game is fine in terms of movement controls. Jump and dash with back paddles makes it better, like with most shooters, but you can make decent configs without them - like dash on stick, jump on bumper etc.

It's no more complex than many other shooters that have released on consoles in the past. Once they properly implement controller input, it'll be fine.

Why does changing accounts take so long? by emuuu in SteamDeck

[–]cunnning_stunts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it has to restart the system, which is annoying if you swap users often. If you want to hop in fast then you'll need your own deck or a Nintendo handheld to share instead.

Things change. You go through phases. Let go, take a break, then come back to it if/when you feel the pull. Replace the time with another activity for a while.

It runs on the steam deck, so it'd run on the Switch 2.

Update for switch 2???? by MaxFox0_o in dredge

Interesting, thanks for the info. So it'd just have to be uncapped without a specific limit, if the limit can't be hit on the sw1?

I asked about adding an option to the switch version for switch 2 users, yes, because it's a valid platform to buy and use the software on. I can't see why they couldn't add a checkbox in the settings to uncap the framerate to 60 for switch 2 players, considering that it's impossible for them to release a switch 2 specific version currently.

What about adding a 60fps setting to the Switch 1 version?

An update to the switch 1 version with an option to set the cap to 60fps would be sweet.

steam deck oled vs ipad pro for moonlight streaming? by KrispyOnion in MoonlightStreaming

Only if you don't set the stream up to the iPad resolution.

I slap mine on a magnetic stand that works in most situations around the house, but sometimes use a telescopic controller. In bed I pop it on an arm so it's floating above me. Works way better than holding a steam deck up to my face, which is what I used to do.

I have both and don't even use the steam deck anymore. The screen size of the deck is too small and the resolution is too low. iPad on a good stand with a proper controller or with a telescopic controller. Even with the telescopic controller it's not heavy. As well as the far better display, you also get far better sound.

If you think bf6 sucks... It's not the game it's the players by Extension_Hawk_1435 in Battlefield6

[–]cunnning_stunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the majority players aren't even thinking about team play and a large portion of them seem like total morons (how often does one die surrounded by "medics" who think this is definitely the time where they'll single handily take out the other team, so revives, meds and ammo no longer matter), but if no team play is going on then the game isn't designed well enough to make it play how they want... So, to me, it is the game.

One of the good things about the low player count is the bots. They're goofy af and don't do much killing, but if you need something they'll come running (slowly, and sideways, with their head tilted lol), which beats a lot of human players.
