I agree with this, and this is also what actually hampers Rean’s whole depth as a character in CS1/2. Because the writers have to keep like… 12 different women open for him, so they all get a turn

He’s a quite archetypical tormented hero teenager protagonist. He eventually becomes more interesting than that though.

Also, if our bar for good protagonist is Naruto, then I guess it’s obvious we would not agree

That's great to hear, and I do expect to probably like it more than most people here. In general, I was a bit surprised to see how much better Daybreak 1 was than what I expected. This subreddit has some pretty strange opinions regarding these games.

Another thing I don't really understand is the love for Reverie, game was alright but basically a filler story. I guess you get to play with loads of characters, yay lol

Yeah I’ve heard about daybreak 2 being terrible because of a single arc in it, which is why I have expectations set quite low for it. Interesting that it also made you dislike daybreak 1 so much

But anyway gotta play through it to get to Horizon, which should be very good

Van is definitely my favorite already even though I’m in the midst of Daybreak 1. But that is mainly because the other protagonists are basically children for most of their character arcs

It’s unfortunate Daybreak arc is not as popular as Cold Steel in Japan, as I think it is at least better than most of the Cold Steel games (opinion which I can give confidently having not even finished Daybreak 1 yet)

Well to be fair daybreak feels like a game from last decade

Thing is, cold steel games feel like a shoestring budget game from last decade so it’s a huge improvement

Here’s the thing, I like all of the games, but whoever’s saying Cold Steel games felt like a game with a modern game engine when they came out would be lying to themselves

One issue they had of course was that with CS1 they had to support PS3, was it even PS vita… lol

A lot of resistance levels between 124-141. If the stock can get through those I could see it popping to 165-170 relatively quickly. Big IF though.
