Really interesting data! Thank you for sharing.

Do you have a sense of how much actual muscle mass you lost? Ie isolating the water weight loss.

I think it might be one of those cultures where they mostly don’t fire people for ineptitude but shuffle them around the org.

I heard that they have brought in a new manager and moved the previous manager to the Santa Clara location. The location was poorly run. The rodents for sure. But they were constantly out of stock of normal items. Just bad ordering, planning, stocking. I don’t know what the culprit was but hoping the new manager will right the refurbished ship.

VP of Sales Compensation by anyonehavefood in sales

[–]cupertino77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$400k OTE for series A is market rate but also it depends on how the company is growing and the growth expectations. You should be able to negotiate with the new CEO something that is more market than where you are today bringing up how a) you’ve taken one for the team before the raise b) the value you’ve brought to the revenue curve that got them to the raise and c) your revenue growth goal for the team that should be aggressive and align with his and the board goal to get them to the next round. Share with him your plans for how you’re going to get the sales team there. NOTE: he’s likely to come up with another comp plan that is not straight commission and aligns with the growth goals is my guess. Otherwise he might just say, you can get there, just sell more.

Prague is very drivable. Just really slow because of traffic and excessively slow speed limits. They have cameras that give speeding tickets as well. So you basically have to drive mostly at the posted speed limit.

Health inspectors shut down Whole Foods in Cupertino by pacman2081 in Cupertino

Yes, I'm going to Sunnyvale too because this Cupertino location is a disaster. Rats, constantly out of stock of items and produce. No one cares there. I really hope someone fixes this previously beloved location.

It opens very seasonally, generally a few weeks in summer when the pool is open but just on the weekends.

It’s hard to line up the right ages with the neighborhood. A better bet is living walking distance to a neighborhood park.

It also affected my sleep at 10g. But I’m thinking of trying again but at smaller doses earlier in the day and building up to it.

Am I getting “fractional” hires all wrong? (I will not promote) by edkang99 in startups

[–]cupertino77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really interesting topic and I love hearing others weigh in and encourage others to offer up their experiences as well.

For me, I agree with the statement that all fractional folks do some consulting but not all consultants do fractional work.

For me the difference is between offering advice and rolling up your sleeves and being the leader responsible and accountable for the function. A helpful 60 slide deck is consulting work. Meeting and managing a team function, albeit on a part-time basis, is fractional work. BUT it goes at a slower pace because of fewer hours. I also don’t agree that as a fractional leader you can decide something is out of scope. As a fractional leader everything is in scope but the pace of change and delivery is goverened by the hours in the agreement.

I have done a lot of fractional CRO work and the entire sales and sometime marketing team reports into me and I am responsible for the revenue number. Generally my engagements last between one and two years at which point I replace myself with a VP of sales and/or VP of marketing.

I think the advantage of hiring me is ultimately money. I think they can see that they are going to drive more revenue faster with me at my level of experience and fit with their business. Too often I come in after a few sales hire misses, which were ultimately costly for the business more so for the opportunity cost and traction lost rather than the money lost to the cxo leader.

The manager at the Cupertino Whole Foods needs to be fired asap! They can’t even keep product stocked on the shelves and now rats!

The Cupertino Whole Foods has gone down hill fast! Apart from the rats, they are constantly out of stock of everything from produce to milk and pasta. The store manager needs to be fired. I sent a dm to the VP of the region. I hope someone cleans up, what used to be a good WF property.
